@Caly: Right? The servers are already being nice to us by interacting and being nice two 2-year-olds (which I consider above and beyond, honestly). I'm not leaving a bunch of Goldfish on the floor.

@meganmp: exactly! And they've usually helped assist w/two high chairs, extra napkins, etc. They work hard enough than to have to deal w/extra mess.

Our standard tip is 20%, unless the service is awful - then I deduct accordingly.
Our LO made a bigger mess when she was younger (probably when she was 1-2 years old), and we would definitely pick up the mess as best as we could. I just think it's rude to leave the area a complete mess. Yeah, the staff is there to clean up after patrons are done, but if it's an above-average mess, I think it's polite and good manners to pick up as much as possible.

omg people can be so rude!
even before lo we tipped 20% of the pre-tax as a general rule, so we usually leave that or 20% including tax if she's made a mess, and maybe and extra dollar or two if they were really nice. I always try to clean up for her too, as best I can.
