I always think what a great idea it would be to wake up before my kids, get their breakfast going, clean up any of their messes I missed from the night before, maybe start a load of their laundry etc...
But I never do! It always sounds great so they aren't whining at my feet while I'm trying to get their food ready while I'm desperately in need of coffee. Maybe some day I'll get myself to do this, and it will make my solo parenting mornings easier!

I wake up before my son to get to the gym. He gets up around 6:30 and I leave for the gym at 5:30. But getting stuff done around the house before 6:30? No way.

Yes. I wake up an hour before her and have a shower and a cup of coffee. She doesn't wake up until 8 usually, so it's not so bad for me to get up earlier

I have done this for the past year or so. LO gets up at 6:45. Three days a week I get up at 5:30 which lets me work out, shower, get dressed, and dry my hair before she is up. Then we can have breakfast together before leaving for daycare/work. The other days I "sleep in" until 6 and then shower, dress, hair and everything else is the same. It makes it a lot easier to have my stuff done and be able to focus on her. I solo parent most mornings so it is key to my sanity!

NO way. She's been waking up at 5am recently!! Plus, I am so lazy in the morning, I love our cozy bed way too much.

Only on the three days a week I have to go to work in the office, and on those days I wake up at 6:10 which is the same time I woke up before LO was born. On the days I work from home and on the weekend I sleep as long as LO will let me (usually somewhere between 7:00-8:30). I love sleep...

She wakes up at 8, so in theory it shouldn't be so hard to get up before she does. But I've never been a morning person...just getting up at 8 everyday is depressing to me.

Um. No. DD1 is up for the day usually by 6/630 and DD2 has taken to waking up around 5am.
I keep wanting to wake up early to put an hours of work in but it's just not happening. LOL

I get up and get dressed, and if I have time I prep breakfast, turn on my coffee, throw a laundry load in. LO gets up fairly late though, between 7:45-8:45.

Hell no. DS gets up at 8-8:30 on the weekends (the only mornings I have with him) and I choose to sleep in too. During the week I'm out of the house at 5:30am, so he's still sleeping.

Oh yeah. It's sort of a necessity if you work.. She gets up closer to 7. I'm up by 530.. I get ready, sometimes I watch tv....sometimes i start dinner, I make myself breakfast (i have eggs a lot...I like a hot breakfast)....I'll pick up the house, start some laundry.....sometimes i log on and get a little work done, so i can leave earlier that day....if I'm awake, I'm not wasting the time Before i was pregnant, i would sometimes get up at 4:30 and go to the gym

No. Lol. T is up at 7:30 at the latest. I just let him wake me up! He loves to play independently in the mornings so I run around while he plays and then clean the kitchen while he eats breakfast in his high chair close by

I used to when LO would sleep until 7/7:30 a.m....now with 5 a.m. wake-ups, not a chance.

Weekdays I'm up before LO, I'm showered/hair done and sometimes make up done by the time she wakes up. I usually wake her up so DH can help get her ready before he leaves for work. Weekends we let her wake us up!

I usually don't, but this morning I was wide awake so I jumped in the shower, got a load of laundry in and started breakfast! DS woke up and had a poopy diaper right away, so I changed him into day clothes and a new dipe and put my face on too!
