Playdates are easiest when our friends also have two kids with a similar age gap! But playdates are also fine when our friends have one kid, about the same age as our eldest. (Our youngest daughter is used to playing with her brother's older friends.)
We don't have many friends with 3 or more kids, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be a problem as long as the age gap wasn't too big!

it's okay though since their #1 and #2s are the same ages as mine

Yes, a lot of my friends plan for similar spacing, too. My LO is nearly 3 and I'm due with her brother soon. A lot of her similarly-aged friends recently had new baby additions.

Right now my of my parenting friends have 1 kid pretty close in age to LO, I'm going to be the first in our group to have 2. I do have some other friends who have two kids, but their LOs are older than mine so we don't really do play dates.

It's a mix. Most have one and one more on the way. The others have two, like we do. We don't have any with 3.

Lots have 1 under a year old. A few have 1 and are TTC number two or pregnant with number 2. One of my best friends is TTC # 4!
We just have 1 for now. Hopefully 3-4 eventually.
