I have noticed several of my friends mentioning that their religious beliefs are the reason behind their choice of a presidential candidate. Is this true for you?

Personally I believe that church and state should be kept separated. I don't think the government should have a say in personal choices that don't affect others, only yourself. For this reason I also don't care what the candidate believes - he/she can be Christian, Muslim, or Atheist... as long as he/she upholds the constitution and does not impose his/her personal beliefs on the country.

This means that I believe in legalizing gay marriage, marijuana, prostitution, etc - even though I have very conservative religious beliefs - because they are personal choices. I don't believe in imposing my beliefs on anyone else. That's my take anyway.

What is yours?
