Depends on my mood that day! L has always been a daddy's boy, and it never bothered me because my DH works crazy long hours and I know it makes his day to see L's reaction when he gets home. But the fact that dada was his first word, and now at 19 months I can still count on one hand the number of times he has said mama? And the fact that now we have D, who also smiles and laughs for DH a million times easier than he does for me? Yeah, I'm starting to get kind of sensitive about it - tonight was actually the first time I have ever been really bothered by it, like to the point that my eyes were welling up with tears, so it's good timing that this thread just popped up!

I try not to let it get to me - I'm the SAHM, they're little, it's typical for me being around to get taken for granted...but sometimes it feels like I must be doing something wrong for both of them to clearly prefer DH!

No, but it bothers me if they prefer anyone other than DH or I! And actually, if LO REALLY STRONGLY preferred DH over me, it would probably bother me.

@Mrs. Pen: oh E totally does that to us! We just laugh, though, and make a joke about one of us not being good enough. Toddlers are punks

it doesn't bother me too much because LO's preference for my DH isn't that strong. however if LO proactively rejected me, by crying or screaming or being unhappy, that would bother me. as it is, he wakes up and asks for daddy and wants to sit in daddy's lap for storytime. not a big deal.

I wish she would favor DH. She has started to really get excited to be around him and do things with him but I'm still her go to aat the end of the day

Sometimes I wish DD would like DH better. Right now she will only nap for me (on me, some days), only do bedtime routine with me, mostly only takes bottles from me. It's exhausting because she has a twin who also needs my attention! This morning DH got up with her at 5 and tried to let me sleep in but she screamed bloody murder until I came downstairs. I have to admit it's pretty damn cute the way she lights up when she sees me, but I'm also really tired.

DH is DS's favorite for fun things, but when he's tired, grouchy, doesnt feel well he just needs his mama.

Not so much DH (she has been on a mom kick lately, but usually it's all about dad) however she's been OBSESSED with grandma (MIL) the last few months and that bugs me. haha when we are there she goes to her instead of me (falls down, needs a snack, needs a cuddle, ect.) and I'm like I'm the momma, but I know it's because she sees her less (and is way more spoiled there!)

My DS has been a daddy's boy from day 1. It only really bothers me if he pushes me away after I try to comfort him when he falls and he runs to DH. He doesn't always do this, he tends to go through phases where the daddy preference is more extreme than at other times. it has gotten a lot better as he gets older (he's 16 months), so that makes me happy. and I'm just relieved that he doesn't choose MIL over me, LOL.

Nope! Ds doesn't really have a preference but depending on the day may be team daddy or team mommy. Neither of us care! Maybe a lil when he prefers one of the grandpas over us!
