When I was in school or working, our cleaning lady was in our house alone all the time. Dh would let her in, i'd be home to see her out.
Well now, I am SAHW and soon to be mom. So, I am home all the time.
The thing is: it feels awkward to sit around my house while she is scurrying around cleaning it. I just feel like...I should do it.
And right now *I can*, so I asked DH to tell her to stop coming until the baby is born because I can clean the house on my own as of right now. Well, he tried that but she said if we "lay her off" for the summer she has to start taking other clients and I don't want to loose her as a cleaning lady. Finding a good cleaning lady in our city is tough.
So, now I try not to be home when she's there but dang-staying our of the house once a week for 8h is tough. I don't have enough errands to fill that time.
Do you ever feel awkward if you are home alone with your cleaning lady?

*mind you: our house is always clean when she comes. Her job is to vacuum the staircases, clean the 5 bathrooms we have and do laundry (wash, fold and hang) So, it's not like I ever have dirty dishes or stuff laying around on the floors. She does "heavy-duty" cleaning that I honestly have a hard time getting to this late in my pregnancy anyways. But I still feel awkward.
