I didn't realize how much my insurance sucks (high premium, high deductible, u/s aren't covered, etc.) until after I was pregnant. I have an individual policy (LO is on it with me) since I am self-employed.

DH has GREAT insurance through work, which always seemed too expensive (high premium, but super low deductible), and now it seems like a way better option. With the birth, and adding another baby to the mix, his insurance is a better way to go.

Since open enrollment is over, I would have to meet criteria for the special enrollment period. DH's HR person said that she would say I simply lost my coverage ... is this okay? I'm not sure how closely this is monitored.

And, do you know if deductibles transfer if you change insurance due to special enrolment?
