What type of bag do you carry for a formal affair, like a wedding? I haven’t bought one that I liked in ages (not counting the $11 one I got from amazon in a pinch!). I don’t even know what’s in style right now!
Pics or links would be greatly appreciated! For this particular event I’m wearing silver satin heels and a long blush colored chiffon dress, but I really just don’t even know what I’m looking for.

The last clutch I got was rose gold from banana republic. They don't have it anymore, but they have this one. I think what updates a clutch are material and shape. If you click on the link, the model is actually wearing silver shoes.

My favorites are are beaded, and with that combo old look for something silver, maybe at Nordstrom rack or something.

I just bought this from BR (50% off right now plus points). I too have my SIL’s wedding this summer and I’m wearing a blush/rose bridesmaid dress. It’s a little more casual since the venue is in Montauk.

@Alba4: I know- same here, my girls are flower girls in the wedding so I will have a big tote with their stuff anyway. Last time I just skipped a little bag for myself but then t was annoying to not have something when I just wanted to grab my phone or something.

@Alba4: is there a strap at all on that one? The pink floral would look really pretty but I need to have some kind of strap. I’m certain I’ll spend at least a good part of the evening holding my 2 year old.

@snowjewelz: haha exactly!! I’ve slowly gotten rid of the really cheesy ones but now I have almost none left.
TJ Max actually has some that I think are cute online and i can return to the store. I think these are my favorites. But maybe they are just my college self choosing...

@Foodnerd81: I would opt for a metallic clutch. And since metallics are neutrals, you can mix/match no problem. You should look at ThredUp-they currently have some great metallic options at pretty much every price point.

@lamariniere: I love that! I have something kind of similar but smaller and gold- but it’s so small it won’t fit my iPhone, and it’s not as pretty as that.
I’m thinking of ordering this one. It says metallic rose gold but looks sort of silvery so I think it will go with a lot.

I didn't see any specific "evening" bags, but there are some cute colored, small bags with a chain strap--there's a Kate Spade surprise sale on. Go look there!
