I wish someone had clued me in about these earlier! I joined one a couple of weeks ago for my city that has kind of a more upscale focus and it has been SO EASY to unload stuff compared to Craigslist. I just sold our couch in like 15 minutes! And nice kids' stuff goes reaaaally fast, too. I keep trying to snag a cheap double stroller and someone always snaps it up like 30 seconds before me, ha.

haha I belong to quite a few and it's been AH-MAZING. I got a cozy coupe practically brand new for $15, a crazy lot of food toys including 4 M&D sets for $45, bunch of gently used clothing at $2 a piece!

@shopaholic: I was invited to one via a local mom friend then found others through that one group. You can usually search your city + kids or mom group. A lot of mine are called swap n sell so try like say New York Swap N Sell

@shopaholic: That was my question. I've heard of them but was unsuccessful in finding them, and I find it REALLY hard to believe that my area wouldn't have any, considering they have like 800 bazillion consignment sales around me!

I belong to a couple! I just missed out on a almost brand new play kitchen for $25, gah! The good things go so fast.

@locavore_mama: Seriously, it's awesome. Although they're kind of snotty on this one about clothes (supposed to be "nicer" brands, no selling things in big lots, minimum of $8 per item).
@littlebug: @shopaholic: Ditto on asking local mom friends, that's how I found this one. Also search on FB and join a couple if you can and feel them out, and check out what FB "recommends" as similar groups to find others.

@littlebug: @shopaholic: try your city or area name + baby and see what comes up. Also then look to the right for "suggested groups" and usually once you are in one a bunch show up there

I belong to one on FB, but things are gone within seconds. It's a bummer, but I don't have the time to stalk FB all day!

I love our local groups! I've scored brand new cloth diapers, tons of clothes, a never used swing, etc.

Also the ones in our area suck. People go nuts over lots of Carter's clothes but I can't sell my NWT babygap stuff for $2 a piece. No outdoor toys or wooden ones either. Boo!

@bunnylove08: Oh man, that's what I need since that accounts for 75 percent of my LO's clothes! Gap I can get away with selling on there, but they specifically say no Old Navy, ha. So annoying, since some of it is practically unworn!

I end up at the big group resale events in town....i havent' seen one for Facebook yet. Everyone does the Spring/fall sales at high schools, though. The moms of multiples club has one that is always fantastic.

I'm waiting for the one in my area to get better. It's really new and so far no one has posted anything that great. I did post a Halloween costume that someone said they wanted, and then she backed out.

Ours is all crap and they have let it members that are up to like a 45 minute drive away. I need to find a more upscale one. There is a Phil and teds double on our page right now with no interest but it's not that kind of group but they do go nuts over cheap Carter's stuff!

I don't know if it's just resale groups in my area...but people try and sell just about ANYTHING on them!
Someone was trying to sell a pack of cigarettes with 5 cigarettes in them for $5.

So I just bought an Orla Kiely baby bag off someone for 30, and it was 245 retail!!!! She barely even used it. Craaaazy.
