It depends. In my old office we were VERY friendly/close/boundaryless so afte working there for 7 years, I was friends with almost everyone on FB. I'm in a new office now and haven't friended anybody (I've been here a year). I wouldn't feel comfortable here because the culture is different.. so I guess it depends.

@fussygal: Definitely! I know my Dh works in a much more "corporate" environment than my old job, so he'd never add colleagues on FB. He always commented about how dysfunctional it was that we were all up in each other's business all the time, but I liked it It felt like a family!

I'm only friends with two coworkers on FB. If someone else requested me, I'd probably accept, but I might put some filters on.

I have a couple of people from work that are my FB friends. I dont post anything that would get me in trouble and they have met both my DH and LO.

I’m friends with a few co-workers on FB but we’re also friends outside of work. I don’t have any special filters set up for them since I don’t really think I need to. I’m not a FB abuser, like oh so many people nowadays. The things that I post on FB are the same things that I’d say IRL, with the exception of some hysterically inappropriate someecards. If they were the type of people who’d be offended by those then we wouldn’t be friends in any capacity.

Now that I am not working i am glad I had some colleagues on there because we kept in touch after I left. Some of my students found me and I have told them I Can not friend them until they are no longer at the school. It was kind of creepy when I saw some teachers Facebook pages full of their students. I don't want to know any of them personally while I was a teacher. Some have found me to tell me they are going to med school and stuff and I don't mind that.

My husbands boss sent him a friend request and he felt like he couldn't say no. Then he called in sick and went to disneyland. My cousin tagged him in a photo. He quickly untangled himself but he was just hoping his boss didn't check Facebook during work hours.

I'm friends with some of them. No filters though, I currently don't post stuff on Facebook I wouldn't want everyone to see.

I have a couple friends, who I am friends with outside of work and they are on my Facebook, however I don't go friending all those I work with, if someone friends me I will create filters, however I don't put anything on FB that I wouldn't show/say in person.
