When do you fill your stockings? Do you fill them as you get things before Christmas? Or do you wait for Santa to fill them only on the night before Christmas?
I've been putting things in stockings as I get them. Someone who was over the other day commented, "Oh you have things in your stockings already." Not sure I put that much thought into it before.

In our house the stocking gifts are from Santa, and for the most part are not wrapped, so as I pick things up for stocking stuffers i just keep a shopping bag for each person. One of the last things I do when wrapping presents is pull out the bag and "stuff" the stocking to make sure it all fits/is enough to fill. the stuff goes back in the shopping bag until Christmas Eve when I stuff the stockings for real.

I do the same thing (when I actually hang the stockings, lol)...fill them up as I go. Then they get too heavy and I have to take the stuff out and figure out where to put it.

santa does stockings, we don't even hang them until the night before (mostly because we use our woodstove for heat and I get nervous about having stuff near it!)

Santa fills the stockings (although it doesn't really matter this year as DD wouldn't notice anyway).

Since our stockings are filled by Santa, I keep a running list of items (along with Christmas presents) and keep the actual items in my Christmas present closet. I'm sure I'll have to be sneakier as the kids get older and more curious.

I have these mini stockings but they're really for decorations only; I never fill them lol. I think with DD2 arriving, and DD1 getting older, I may consider getting bigger stockings and moving them elsewhere in the house and actually filling them in the future.

We don't do Santa but we do have stockings. I usually put stuff in on Christmas Eve. It's tricky sometimes at my parent's house to get them filled without them seeing but I've started wrapping some things so it doesn't matter.

stockings are hung, but nothing goes in them until night before, after kids are asleep: aka, santa brought the stuff in stockings.
DH put something in my stocking and i told him he had to hide it somewhere else because santa hasn't come yet!

They hang up all season but don't get filled till Christmas Eve when Santa comes.

We don't really do Santa, but we still don't fill the stockings till the night before. Otherwise, I think my kids would look in them.

Santa fills them on Christmas Eve.
We normally hang them up as decorations for the whole season, but because we spend Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grampa's we thought that might be confusing now that LO is three.
I do put presents under the tree as I wrap them. LO is showing so much restraint about opening them. I'm seriously impressed.
