What sort of gift would you bring to a gender reveal party? This is NOT the shower. I was going to buy something off the registry for the shower, and I'll usually buy an outfit or small item once the baby is born. I could get a gender neutral outfit but that kind of seems like it's missing the mark when the whole point of the party is to find out the sex. I guess I could wrap one of each and return the one that turns out to be the wrong sex haha. I supposed gifts might not be expected but this is a full on party so I'm not going to show up empty handed. Books are always a safe choice, but I'm curious what others have done/would do.

I don't think I'd bring anything but if you really feel like you need to, maybe a soft blankie in a neutral. Or something funny like a "How to" baby manual kind of thing.

I haven't been to one of these. If you feel the need to bring something I would bring a book. I wouldn't feel bad showing up empty handed because there will be a shower and you are already planning on purchasing something for them anyway.

I haven't been invited to a gender reveal party, but I'd probably bring a book (with a female lead character) or something for the parents/ party like sparkling apple juice.

@Anya: In this weird type of situation I usually bring a little gift and leave it in my car or in my giant purse. Then if no one else brings a gift, you can just keep that for the shower and if everyone brings a gift, you can pull out your gift - "Oh here, I forgot this was in here!"
I think in this situation I'd lean towards a gift for the pregnant mama rather than a baby gift since there's going to be a shower. Sparkling cider and a Target gift card?

Maybe a frame for the ultrasound picture? I wouldn't really think of this as a gift giving occasion but that's something small and meaningful.

Maybe a gift card in a board book? I know gift cards are impersonal but I personally love receiving them!

For a gender reveal I got invited to the invitation said the mom requested diapers and wipes. Otherwise, I wouldn't bring anything big. IMO gifts shouldn't be given at this sort of thing.

Gifts aren't typical at gender reveals in my experience, but if I felt the need to bring something I'd definitely go book. But I'm a reader and am all about books for kids.

I wouldn't bring a gift if there is a separate shower later. Maybe a card.

I don't think a gift is necessary but if you feel like you should I would split what you would spend on the shower - half for the shower half for the gender reveal. You could also buy two outfits and give the one that fits after the gender is revealed. You could take the other back. Kind of a pain in the butt but an idea

I agree that a gift isn't necessary for a gender reveal, but if you don't want to arrive empty-handed a book is always a good choice.
