If you have a friend who is having a baby but isn't having a baby shower, so there isn't a registry, what is your go-to gift?
Do you go for practical, fun or a mix of both? Or do you just flat out ask them what they need/want?

My go to is saline spray, colic calm, gas drops, Vaseline, gripe water, infant Motrin, and usually a thermometer! All the crap that had us running out in the middle of the night with out first child.

I usually ask them what they need/want but if not, I'll send Aden and Anais swaddles and a Sophie!

I get them a care package of stuff that they'll probably need in the middle of the night - haha. It usually has saline, gas drops, gripe water, teething tablets, etc.

I usually do some of my favorite swaddle blankets or some thicker blankets from Nordstrom. I feel like you can never have too many.
I agree about the medicines and such though. The practical gifts are the best.

Used to be an exerSaucer which is still great but after having my own I realize that things you can use right away and for a long time are best. Carters Footed sleepers (one in each size through a year), halo sleep sack with swaddle panels, white onesies (a pack in each size), and A+A blankets are some faves.
