Has anyone used a Freestyle and a Spectra 9s or Spectra 2 to compare them?
How about comparing a Freestyle and a Freemie?
I already have a Freestyle and a PISA and much prefer my Freestyle. But I get a new pump through insurance and am still exploring my choices. I know all the "specs" of each and have read online reviews--but it seems like everyone compared with spectra against the PISA, which I don't even like. I'm curious about how it compares to a Freestyle.
Same with Freemie.
Anyone?

I used a the freestyle for about a week- the spectra was SO much better. I've heard that freemie pump doesn't have a whole lot of suction, but freemie cups can be "hacked" to fit any pump pretty much.

@AmandaB8: Which spectra? How was it better? And do you have to stay in one place, next to an outlet?

I used an s2, which is not portable. An s1 is similar to an s2, but with an internal battery and portable. S9s are portable, but I hear they're not as good as s1/s2.

bumping this. i have a hygeia which i loved, but would like a battery powered pump even more, even though i have all the add ons to make the hygeia run on double-as or car power. looking at the spectra s9 (covered by my insurance) and possibly getting the freemie cups to go with it!

@birdofafeather: I just wonder about the reviews for the s9 saying it's loud and not as good as the other models. I still haven't decided and I'm 3 cm dilated, haha.

I skimmed a bunch of reviews that said that the s2 was amazing and the s9 slightly less so but more gentle and effecient than the medelas (which I did not ever use). I'm really after the portability and not for every day use (at weddings I've pumped in all sorts of ridiculous places but if I didn't have to run and find a power source, I'd be in and out quicker!) and the noise factor doesn't bother me a whole lot. I guess it's all relative? Blah. Let me know what you choose!! And yay for baby 2 coming soon! Woo!

I was interested in the S2 too.
@AmandaB8: when you say it's not portable do you mean it's big and bulky? Do you think it would fit in a bag? I need a pump I can carry to the lactation room at work (not close to my office) and home from work each night.

@lepamplemousse: no, I just mean it doesn't have a battery pack!
I carried mine in a soft sided cooler.

I have the spectra s2 and love it!! I don't really have a reason to need portable, but if I did, I would get the s1. I used the ameda purely yours for LO1 and it blows it out of the water with comfort.

@Anagram: Which Spectra did you get and how does it compare to your Freestyle? I have a Freestyle from DS and am debating between getting a Spectra this pregnancy or another Freestyle.
