I got invited to a girls night away in March for my best friends birthday, and it starts at 9am on a Saturday and will last overnight into late afternoon the next day. I was invited last year but LO2 was nursing still and I just thought it would be more of a pain so I politely declined. I'm excited to be able to go this year, and I have no doubts DH can't handle it!
Has your SO watched the kids overnight before? What is the longest they have watched the kids on their own?

Not yet. I have no doubts he would be absolutely fine without me, but I'm just not ready to leave LO overnight.

Yup! I flew across the country when DD was 6 months old. DH took care of her solo for 4 nights. She was still breastfed at that time, too. He did great. He is amazing!

When we just had 1, my husband had her for a 4 day, 3 night trip I took with girl friends. He has offered to watch both girls now (for me to go to a friend's wedding), but I ended up declining because I couldn't find a flight for a reasonable price.

Yes, for a two day work conference. He is a SAHD though so he's used to being alone during the day and had no problems. This was when we only had one child. Neither of us has been away from the baby overnight yet. That might happen for the first time when I am in a wedding this summer.

No, he hasn't. Up until recently they were still nursing in the MOTN. They still have night wakings now, but I try not to nurse them unless they are sick or having a really rough night. They really really want me to deal with MOTN wakings, so it's hard for him to handle that, and would be really really hard for him to do alone. My friends are planning a girls weekend for spring or summer. I'm hoping I'll be able to go, but it depends how much they are still nursing then (right now morning is rough for DH to handle alone because they want to nurse immediately. Maybe we'll make progress on that by the time they are 2!)

Never overnight, but I've came home late before so he has done bedtime routine by himself, etc. He also has her for a full day so he actually parents solo more than me!

Not yet! Hopefully soon, I'd love a night away... And I've been doing it a ton recently because he's working a bunch of 36 hour shifts this month. Oy.

No, though I used to work shifts where I wouldn't be home until midnight. I think he'd do fine now. He does most MOTN wake ups now that we night weaned. He would just need a lot of reminders on what to do usually since I'm really the primary!

Yep, I travel for work a few times a year so he'll have her on his own for 1-3 nights. They both do great and it's a good bonding time

Yep around 9 months for a similar amount of time as you for a girls trip as well. I pumped while away.
Then again when he was about 15 months for 4 nights. I missed them a lot! I asked if he wanted any instructions. He was so offended! Haha. They did awesome.

yes, for 2 nights last month while I was at a funeral. He did great and it made me wonder why I hadn't done it earlier (she's 2.5).

Not exactly but there have been times when I have been home late and then out the door early for work so it's effectively the same. He does great.

Sort of? I haven't left her overnight yet, but he's taken her the whole night so I could sleep a couple of times. Which, in terms of responsibility, is no different than me being gone because I did nothing at all.

I travel for work...so DH has watched K a handful of times. Most notably:
5 nights for a domestic trip
10 nights for an international trip
Several other times just a night or two. When I am gone for a weekend I try to arrange for one of my parents to take K and give him a short break (2 hours or so). When I went domestic I arranged for my mom to come get her one night from DC and put her to bed - to give DH 1 night off.
When I went international - I asked my mom to take her for 24 hours (saturday AM to Sunday lunch time) - so DH could decompress.
He has asked that I not take any work trips until DD2 (due in March) is 9 mos old and that if weekends are involved (international only) we consider a sitter for a 3 hour chunk Saturday and Sunday. I think its fair.

He just watched both of them together for the first time a couple nights ago (they're 2 and 5 months). LO2 woke up way less than usual, probably because he knew the boobs were gone lol.

Yes, my husband has kept them lots by himself overnight when I've been away for meetings and he is just as capable as me- which I would expect nothing less!

@twodoghouse: If I were you, I'd go. Most kids react totally different if one of their parents isn't there and are thus fine with a deviation from their regular routine.

He hasn't yet since DS2 was born last summer, but he will be in next month and a few times after that when I go away for a few wknds
He's done it a lot with DS1, I know he'll be fine with DS2 too

Yes, a couple of times. It doesn't even phase him, which makes it really easy for me to leave. He'll be solo for a weekend in February while I have a girls trip.

Only once so far for one night while I was on a work trip. I have another one coming up in two weeks where I'll be gone for four nights. I actually haven't had LO overnight along myself so far (he's 16 months) bc DH never travels for work!

This week I was gone Monday through Friday which wasn't terrible because they had daycare. In the past I've gone Saturday through Thursday and that's harder over the weekend.

Yep several times. I went to Nashville for 3 days in November and he handled both girls like a pro. He's an extremely capable dad!

Yup! 2 nights while I was away at SIL's baby shower, one night when i was in the hospital and then once when he sent me to an overnight at a hotel/spa. He's very capable!!

Yes - DH watched her for the entire Labor Day weekend last year while I went to his sister's bachelorette party. DD was 3 months old at the time. DH is totally capable!
