No but I've had a thumbnail fall off! It will grow back...but I hope yours doesn't fall off & the pain subsides soon. Toe pain sucks!

Yes, I was in high school. I don't remember what happened, but it eventually grew back.

Yes, one fell off my pinky toe once. But if I remember, there was already new nail beneath it growing in.

I currently have what you are describing on my right big toe nail. It happened at our wedding somehow, maybe the shoes were pinching me or someone stepped on my toes, I don't know. Almost the whole thing was black with blood. It was so tender for a couple of weeks but it stopped and I don't feel it anymore. Luckily it never fell off but it's been 6 months and it's still growing out! I just keep it covered with polish. The gross thing is when I cut my nail the blood under the nail crumbles away or can be dug out, sorry TMI

Yes - I dropped something stupid on my foot and it ended up falling off a couple of months later. It didn't hurt (after the bruising went away) just felt really weird. There's still sensitivity even now when I have my nail back.

yes my big toe - not sure what happened - it was gross - it took over 6 months to grow back!!

I only lost part of my toenail on my big toe once. It turned into a total pain because part of the original nail was still stuck in the flesh (sorry TMI) and it got really gross and ulcerous. I ended up needing minor surgery to get all the old nail out. I swore myself that should this ever happen again I'd get it checked out by a podiatrist as soon as possible.

Yep, lost a toenail to marathon training once. It was black for a while before falling off and there was already another nail growing under it! Nails grow back.

Yup!! Pointe shoes- they kill your feet!!
