My 12 month old still wakes at 4am almost every morning to nurse. I used to be ok with it because he'd go right back to sleep until 6 or 6:30am. Lately though, he has a tough time settling back to sleep. Sometimes he can't go back to sleep at all and we have to get up with him at like 4:30am. Sometimes he'll sleep a little more but he's usually up by 5:30 at the latest.

Occasionally he sleeps through the 4am nursing but when he does that, it basically guarantees that he will be up at 4:45am for the day.

I really think he does need more morning sleep because he's always cranky on the days when he is up super early.

He takes one nap (about 3 hrs) and consistently goes to bed on his own with no props at around 7:30pm. We have white noise and blackout curtains (not that it matters at 4am in December).

Wondering if anyone has gone through this and has advice. Unfortunately, he has a feeding delay and is barely eating any solids so I can't bulk him up in solids the night before. We've tried letting him CIO but that usually backfires because it wakes up our 4 year old, so then we end up with 2 cranky kids instead of 1.
