We have two girls and we're done. I guess I always knew I just wanted two. Now that A is starting to outgrow things I'm having a hard time deciding if I should pack them up or just sell/donate them. I have those 'just in case' thoughts.... and sometimes I think I should keep them in case my sister ever has kids and wants some gear.

I don't know! We just had our second but still feel as if someone is missing. I don't know if we will have that feeling after a third or if practicality will make that decision for us.

I don't think baby fever will ever go away. But, I know our decision will be heavily based on my physical/emotional well-being and saving $$/providing for each child equally. We're a 2 maybe 3 family at this point in our family plans.

We are in the same position. We have two girls, do we try for a boy? I always wanted more than 2 but then I think about traveling (hotel rooms, family passes, etc) among many other things. I thought there would be a feeling of 'done'.

We want an even number of kids and we don't want four. So, two it is. And I'm okay not being pregnant anymore.

We always said we were 2 open to 3. Then we had LO and I could see myself happy with 1...but eventually was open to 2 again. I love the idea of a big family (like on Parenthood) but I have ZERO desire to ever be pregnant again and I'm happy with the thought of us just having our 2 little girls

I'm so happy with two kids, I can't imagine adding a 3rd to the mix. I don't know - there's just this feeling of completeness. They play well together, and I feel like with 3 kids someone will end up feeling left out.
I also have no desire to go through pregnancy and postpartum again, there's no yearning about wanting another kid, and I'm glad we can "move forward with our lives" if that makes sense. Now that I have an almost 2 year old and almost 4 year old I feel like the fun can really begin! It feels like the skies the limit these days and I'm looking forward, instead of having to restart it all.
We're just at a place with a lot of balance, and we don't want to rock it or stretch ourselves too thin. I do get this feeling of "I'm done", but who knows... I try to keep an open mind with that 1%.... maybe I'll change my mind later on. Never say never, right?

I know we aren't done. I just feel like we are missing our second girl, we currently have one girl and two boys. Once we have four (girl or not) we will be done!

same here! we have two boys and are done. I have boxes of clothes and baby things that i've slowly started to donate/sell/give away to people we know, but have also kept some items *just in case* we have an oops.
I'm 99.2% sure we are done but you never know when your younger one gets old enough (people say the magic age is 2) then you start to have baby fever again.
I've gotten rid of the bigger or random baby items like the jumperoo, swing, changing table pad, crib wedge, mobile, etc..since even if we decided to have a 3rd, i wouldn't purchase them again. My goal is to just keep some baby clothes/blankets/and key baby items as the just in case supplies and purge all the rest!

@Mrs. High Heels: I totally get that "move forward with our lives" feeling. We are definitely done at 2, and while I'm a tiny bit nostalgic about not having another cuddly newborn, I definitely know a 3rd is not in the plans.
I think one of the ways I know I'm done is that I don't get jealous anymore when I see pregnancy announcements like I did in the time leading up to TTC LO2. -
We agreed to 2 so that was that!
I would have loved to have a 3rd but 2 makes more sense (DH has 2 kids as well so that's 4 total)

We've only got one but I think we're done. I have no desire to go through the process to be pregnant again, nor do I want to be. DS is one and sleeping through the night, having another just seems like going backwards. My DH is an only and loved/loves it, DS has lots of 'friends' his age at daycare and in our group of friends so I don't think he'll miss having a sibling. Having one works for us, I can't imagine having another. Although I still have all my maternity and newborn clothes, there is just this what if feeling but I don't know that it will ever go away.
ETA: Also as others have said I'm not jealous when I see pregnancy announcements or meet newborns now, I'm kind of relieved its not me lol

I know myself enough to know that if I say I'm done, I will inevitably want more (wanting what I can't have)! So I never say we're definitely done. I just say we're 99% sure we're done, no one's getting any surgery done and we'll revisit the issue once LMW is out of daycare. We cannot continue with double daycare...!! The financial aspect of multiple kids in daycare is just too brutal.

My husband really wanted another and I wasn't opposed but I got pregnant last September and then had a miscarriage and it was enough for us to question whether a 3rd was a good idea. At 41, I'm afraid of birth defects and my husband couldn't handle another miscarriage - so we decided 2 was good enough.

Time is our determining factor, followed by finances. I'm 40 and have long said it was my cutoff. And two in daycare for two years is still causing me to panic and #2 isn't here quite yet.
We are also running out of space in our home and cars. And with three, well we'd be outnumbered

I thought I would always just want 2 if I ever did have kids. And then I had 1, and after going through pregnancy, recovery, newborn stage, I was like noooooooo more. But when LO1 turned 1, we decided to add 1 more. Now with our 2 girls, we are done. Nooooo more. It would be financially difficult for us to have more, and party of 4 fits us just about fine. I am a wee bit sad to give away the clothes and baby things, but it's a good feeling too.

I have no clue! I have one and initially we always talked about 2, but now we aren't sure. Planning on playing it by ear and set a deadline to start ttc next September if we want #2, so I guess we have a year to figure it out! I didn't realize how hard this decision was! We could add another financially, space-wise, physically, etc, and I try to think long-term because I think in the future our family would be better with 2 kids and not just 1, but I don't know! Some days 1 sounds perfect.

Now that I'm pregnant with number two, I know deep down I'm done and our family is complete at 2. However, my husband keeps saying "how can this be the last time we do this" or "do you really think we are done?" And I just know I am, no matter the gender. I think emotionally, physically, and financially it makes most sense for us to enjoy our soon to be family of 4.

I really wanted a big family, but infertility happened. I kept hoping to get pregnant naturally after my daughter was born, but so far no dice. Now she's three, and I'm in the best shape of my life, and life is just so great, and I keep thinking, eh. I'm kind of over it. I don't feel like anything is missing, my daughter is amazing, life is great. I feel done, you know? If I got pregnant again, I'd be happy, but I'd have a big sense of, 'oh man, now it'll be a few more years until we're back at that really great, easy place'.

I realized recently that I'm really done, because I'm starting to think ahead about plans for myself once M is in school. I've been a SAHM for so long and I'm ready to move on and get back to being ME again.
Not even sure if that makes sense.
If we have any more children, we'll adopt, and that's only a maybe if we can afford it in a few years. It will also be an older baby/toddler.

We just feel complete with our 2 girls. I love babies, but have zero desire to go through pregnancy and having a newborn again!

After having my son we decided we'd like 2 more. Well then I got pregnant with twins. I'm pretty sure we're done but if these twins are both boys sometime far down the road (as in like 4-5 years) we might consider one more to see if we get a girl. Pray for a girl twin for me, lol!
Oh and the pencil test said 3 kids hehe.

@Dandelion: this is exactly how i feel. I always wanted 3 or 4, and then i got to week 5 of this pregnancy and i was like nope, done. Never doing this again. ready to be past the baby stage and move forward. So im trying to enjoy it for what it is without wishing the time away

@Mamaof2: I'm so glad I'm not the only crazy person who feels like I might end up with 4. (DH also has two from a previous relationship)
I feel like 4 is such a large number, but at the same time, I still feel like someone is missing. I'm not sure I'm one and done, but I might be. Definitely not right now, but maybe in the next 2 or 3 years.

We just have a feeling of our family is complete.
DS is almost 18m and neither of us want to go back to the newborn days, especially as he gets more challenging behavior-wise. Having one, we feel like we can still maintain our interests and hobbies and have a family (not to say that people with more kids can't, just saying WE don't think WE could).

I struggle with this. 2 was our number but I didn't expect we'd get there by having twins! Part of me feels like I'm missing out and want to have another baby but I just don't know. DH is definitely done, so he says. I guess the 5% of me that's not sure will re-evaluate once they're out of daycare.

I agonized over this every day but I think we are done with one. I loved pregnancy but emotionally post partum was the hardest thing and I was not in a good place. I feel like for me personally it is too much to sacrifice and I feel an intense need to get on with my life bit by bit. Of course DD will always come first but as she grows up I assume I will have a bit more time to pursue my interests.

My last pregnancy made me certain that I can never be pregnant again. I love my children and I love babies but we just can't have 4. We don't have 5 bedrooms, our car is barely large enough as is, we can't swing it financially and we would like to stop paying for hospital bills and baby gear soon!
Also, N already knows she's the youngest and loves it...I couldn't possibly add another to the mix and break her heart

Now that we are battling infertility, we will be lucky to have 1.
It's hard to mourn the loss of the journey I wished we had, and try to assimilate to having (maybe) one. I'm hoping we get lucky enough to have 2.

We are a 2 maybe 3 family. I was on bed rest for 7 wks with #1 but if #2 continues to go well we will probably have a third.

I don't know. I have zero interest in being pregnant again, although I do want another. DH would rather TTC than adopt, but right now is not an ideal time for it since I just went back to school. I don't know, but I wish I can figure it out before it's too late.

When Ito.d my husband I wanted a baby, and we were discussing family plans, I (like the crazy person I am) thought that we had to decide THAT MINUTE how many kids we would have. And he said, wisely, "why don't we just start with one and see how it goes". It seemed so logical. And opened up the possibility that you can legitimately have just one kid.
And then I hated every moment of pregnancy and one sure seemed like a good idea to me. That aside, we both just felt that tacky cliche feeling of completeness since she was born. And now any baby smaller than her freaks me put. Have not had baby fever in over two years

We just had our second and I think there's a pretty good chance we'll have a third.
I think we would both love to have four but that might be stretching it.

My son, the other night, was talking about his family. He kind of all put it into perspective for me and we're firmly one and done.
I had asked him a question about something and he replied about his family, the three of us.
