The first time I had a little Bruins onesie and a Christmas ornament that said "and baby makes three". He was so excited. The second time I printed a picture of our son with the caption "soon to be BIG brother!" DH was a little shocked as we weren't really trying but he was really happy as well.

I have a onesie for when the time comes, but I probably won't tell him right away, wait until confirmation with blood work. *paranoid*

@babycanuck: That's easier said than done! Especially since it could be a week until you have blood work results!

@LindsayInNY: I know!! I think I can do it, though. I might have to throw myself into work and the gym more but I think I can lol

First time, I couldn't for the life of me figure out if there was a line, so the two of us hunched over the test for ages, before deciding it was negative. I got a positive on a digi later that day and handed it to him when he came home, not very romantic.
With this pregnancy, I has DD 'make' him a card (she was 11.5 months when we found out). It's super cheesy but he liked it.

I tested after work and of course he was late coming home that day. So the second he walked in the door our dog and I ambushed him and I was just crying and sort of shouting like a crazy person. I think I nearly threw the pee stick at him too.

I blathered something incoherent and shoved the pee stick at him...I couldn't have waited and done something fun, I was too stunned (it happened pretty quickly and I didn't think our timing was great that month).

I found out I was pregnant with Chloe on Valentines day, so I bought him a onesie to open up after work. He thought it was a watch (wtf?!) then when he realized what it was he said "this won't fit me... OH SHIT!!!"
With the second, we suspected I might be and took a test together. I had a loss.
With the third, I texted him *after* two of my friends confirmed the positive pregnancy test. I lost that one, too.

I'm waiting on the day that I can hand him a onesie with a superman logo on it and with the attached note... "Will it be a supergirl or a superboy?"

@Honeybee: Lol not quite yet!
@mrsjyw: Haha nope I'm not, was just curious and didn't really find any threads on the topic.

@bluestriped bee: I'm waiting to hear all about when that happens for you!
So many great ideas!!! And lots of these are cracking me up, I'm seriously reading all of these responses with the biggest smile on my face.

I was not original. He knew I was testing anyway, so early in te morning I got the faintest of lines on a. Wondfo and made him come in and look at it for me. I got two tests with super faint lines so we were pretty sure but didn't believe it. The next morning (Saturday) I took a frer and came back into bed and said "well, are you ready to be a dad? Cuz you're gonna be." He was happy then went back to sleep while I laid there with my mind racing.

He actually told me!
We TTC for almost two years, had pretty much given up on anything happening naturally, and were just waiting on an appointment with our RE to figure out what the next step would be.
I had massively long cycles so I took provera almost every cycle, but had to test before I started. I assumed it would be negative, and was so sick of looking at negative tests I told him to just go look and throw it away without even showing me. He came out like, "Is two lines negative or positive?"

The first time (m/c) he read the test and told me!
This time I gave him this:

We have an inside joke about sperm whales so I bought a stuffed animal whale and when I got my BFP I hid it under the covers on his side of the bed - he thought it was a dog toy at first but then he got it lol! After our miscarriage he put away the whale and requested that I hide it again the next time we get our makes this second time around a little less sucky and I'm busy thinking of new ways to hide it

The first time, I woke him up with the news...it was very unromantic and unexciting, though.
The second time, I left him a note on the table with my FRER. He still has the note.
This last time, I was so unbelievably scared to test that he knew when I was testing...we both thought we saw something on a Thursday night when I first tested, but we weren't sure. I had betas scheduled the next morning, and I called him from work with the for sure news the next day when I got my results back. Both of us held our breath until the repeat results came back higher two days later, though!!

@Boogs: I bought him a belated father's day card since I found out the weekend after father's day! He was super surprised since when he asked where I was going at 7 AM I said CVS to get tampons!

I threw the pee stick at him while he was eating a muffin. Then I repeatedly said, "You probably shouldn't eat that. It's covered in my pee."
Hallmark card worthy, I know.

I think both times I was so surprised I couldn't think of anything cutesy or romantic. The first time was right after finding out we would be going to court for James adoption and would be paying way more than we had anticipated. I said well guess what? It's not the flu, I'm pregnant, at least we won't have to pay lawyers for this one. Then I cried at the thought of two babies within a year. I am pretty sure he said the S word and then we laughed.
Then I had to tell him it was twins. I kind of just blurted it out on the phone whole he was at work. He gets bad (he gets bad reception at work so he was on the roof) I believe he said "what? Are you effing kidding me? I'm on the roof. You don't tell a man he is going to have three babies in a year while he is standing on a roof."
With my second I just went in the bedroom in the morning and said "well I know we weren't officially trying yet but I'm pregnant. Let's hope its a girl."
Like I said I'm not very romantic.

I tested while out of town on a business trip (didn't want to drink at the wrap-party if I was pg), and got a +! But I really wanted to tell DH in-person. So when I got home, on our way to dinner, I asked him to stop at a lake by our house (we go all the time, nothing unusual). I was nervous to tell him bc he had much anxiety over ttc. When we sat on a bench at the lake I told him I had thought of a new song he should write (he's a musician). And I said, "the song's called, Baby, We're Having a Baby." he laughed at the silliness and then realized what I was saying. Then he cried! We've been making up joke versions of the song ever since. Maybe that's how we'll announce!

i texted him a photo of the digital test. it was the middle of the day and he was at work.

We did the whole thing together, so there wasn't really any telling to be done...I guess every morning we both waited with bated breath as the thermometer beeped, then I'd say, "It's still up," and we'd sigh with relief, then look at each other excited. By 16dpo with temps still high, we bought a test. I peed on it, yelled "go!" from the bathroom, DH set the 3min timer, then I quickly covered the test with toilet paper (so I couldn't peek), washed my hands, and ran out. When the timer went off, we took a deep breath, and pulled away the paper. Two lines! I just laughed, and he said, "Booya!"

@Mrs. Train: Hahaha. I love that he was on the roof, and his answer!
The first time (m/c) I tucked a onesie in a shirt for him and told him I'd bought him a present that he had to try on. When he tried to put it on he found the onesie. It took a bit of time for it to sink in. The second time I told him that I had some pics to show him and these were the last two:
