I think it's interesting to see how long other people were in labor for, so feel free to share for each of your pregnancies! Also, was it longer or shorter than you imagined it would be?
With my first I was in labor for 9 hours and my second for 10 hours. I thought my second would be shorter, since my first seemed to go pretty fast. However, I pushed for an hour and 45 minutes with my first and my second practically fell out with just a push or two. So that was a huge upside!

DD1 (40w2d) contractions started 2am...she was born at 1pm...so 11 hours.
DD1 (39w5d) induced at 9am...she was born at 3:45pm...so just under 7 hours.

@Bao: my second just about fell out too...I expected the labor to be shorter start to finish but I settle for just a push or two...

Active, intense labor was around 14 hours after my water sprung a leak. I was fully dilated at the 10 hour mark, labored down for an hour and then pushed for 3 hours.
But I think I was in early labor for about 12 hours before that. At the time I thought I was just having a bunch of braxton hicks because we had been so busy during the day. And I had a lot of back pain but I attributed that to the 50lbs I had gained...

My induction technically took 28 hrs, but nothing seemed to be happening for a lot of that. I would say I was actively laboring for 10 hours, maybe? Over 4 of that, though, was pushing.

It was 15 hours from when they placed the cervadil to holding DD. I don't think I really went into labor until they broke my water so it was about 11 hours. I'm curious about how fast it will go if I ever have another baby, especially because I only pushed for 40 minutes, which seems to be pretty quick for a first baby.

I usually say 8 hours. My water broke at around 7am, but I really didn't feel anything at all for about an hour. Contractions started around 8am, baby was here by 4pm.

DD1: 15 hours (from water breaking, though contractions didn't start until pitocin about 6 hours in); 6 minutes/3 pushes
DD2: 3.5 hours (30 minutes from is-this-it contractions to water breaking, 3 hours from water breaking to baby snuggles); 1 push

LO 1 - 23 hours from first contraction (spontaneous labor at 40+1) until delivery, includes 5 hours of pushing
LO 2 - induced at 10am (40+10) with misoprostol, real contractions began around 3, delivered at 9pm (pushed for 1 hr) - so 11 hours total.

I was induced, and total it took ~29 hours, although I was only in active labor for about 7 hours, about 20 minutes of real pushing.

@KT326: DD2 definitely came quick (1 contraction worth of pushing) but DD1 also came pretty quick...about 3-4 contractions worth of pushing...I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! However, coming out quick came with consequences....tears...so its a give and take...

I was in active, intense labor for @ 8 hours both times.
I was really hoping my second labor would be swifter. Everyone said that second babies come quickly. They all LIED ! Lol. And my second labor was so much harder! Then again my second was 9lbs 11 oz.

18 hours. My contractions were all day on Wednesday, but didn't get difficult until 5AM Thursday morning. Then I had DD at 11PM thursday night at 39+6. I was 1 hour away from my due date!!

18 1/2 hours technically at 38 weeks
5am - waters broke (trickle) no contractions
7am - arrive at hospital, 4cm
11am - start pitocin
4:30pm - water fully breaks
6pm - epidural
8:30pm- fully dialated
9:30pm - start pushing
11:23pm - birth

@Mrs D: Oh I still ended up with a second degree tear/episiotomy (I'm still not sure if I tore naturally or they had to cut, I never asked) with a forceps delivery. I had so many stitches. I'll even take an hour of pushing over three!

DD1: 6 hours. induced at 38 weeks. Started Pitocin at 10, doc broke my water around 1, DD was out by 4:13. I pushed 3 times.
DD2: 4 hours. induced at 40+1. Started Pitocin at 530, my water broke on its own around 830 and DD was here at 945. I pushed about 5 times.

6 hours, but 'active' labor was more like 4.

My 1st was an induction that started at 3pm, labor started at 10pm and baby came at 630am. 8.5 hrs labor, 30m pushing
2nd started super mild cramping at 11am, more intense around 3pm, baby born at 630pm. About 4.5 hours of labor, 4m of pushing. Only at the hospital 1.5 hrs before the birth so no time for epi!

First baby was 11 hours from starting induction to baby being born. She pretty much fell out (was rolling from my left side to my back so the midwife could get a better look and her head pooped out while rolling)
My second was 4 hours from when I woke with a contraction to baby being born. Pushing took 2 contractions I think.

My first was an induction which lasted 105hrs, but I was only in active labour for 90 minutes of that, on the hormone drip.
My second labour is recorded as 30 minutes! Fortunately, I was already in hospital because my water had broken more than 24hrs earlier but there were no contractions - otherwise I may have delivered in the car! I did have almost a week of prodromal labour beforehand though.

25 freaking hours via induction, with no epidural allowed though I wanted one desperately and had no "backup" pain-management plan. Very active intense labor. The longest break I ever got between contractions was 5 minutes during the pushing stages. Pushed for an hour.
That whole 5-1-1 thing? Never experienced that. That would have been a dream.

30 hours from when my water broke, 26 from when they started me on pitocin (my contractions did not start on their own). Never got to the pushing stage and had an emergency c-section.

Lo1: 51 hours; some prodormal but it felt active the whole time. No sleep, back labor.
Lo2: 2 hours.

I'm gonna say 25 hours. Cervadrill started at 6pm. Doctor came and broke my water at 8am, and he was out at 730pm. I have no idea how much active labor, I got an epidural at a 2 around 10 am and it was soooo good I slept for a lot of the day. Thank god though because I went from a 5 to a 10 in 30 minutes and DS heart rate got wonkey. I pushed for 2 hours, where I preceded to tear and got sliced. The icing on the cake being that DS had the cord wrapped around his neck, and I had severe pre-e, so my Bp was ridiculous during the whole ordeal. My body is not made for making babies

Water broke at 9pm, contractions started a 2-3 hours later, had her at 2:34pm. So 15 1/2 hrs.
