I exclusively pump, so I should probably pump 5 times a day.. but I usually only pump 4 times because I hate pumping. Also, LO has been so demanding lately that it's hard to find something to preoccupy her for 20 minutes while I set up, pump, store, etc. A few times this month I've only pumped 3 times because I either didn't have time, or just didn't feel like it.
I can't wait until I can drop down to 2 or 3 pump sessions.. 6 more months..

I nurse 4-5x/day and pump 3-5x per day (3x at work and 1-2x at home). I usually pump for 20-30 min. Right now I only have 8oz in reserve so I won't be dropping pumping sessions anytime soon - even though I hate it!

I've been exclusively pumping and am doing it 7 times a day. I was doing it about 8-10 times and it was simply not sustainable. We give formula at night, too, so I can build up a stash. I only pump for 15 min since that's what the LC suggested
When did you drop to 5? I won't be able to for awhile, just wondering.

I exclusively pumped for 9 months and pumped 7 times a day. It's hard work!

3x at work, 1x at home before I go to bed, so 4.
I also nurse LO another two times.
I cannot wait to be able to drop down to something more like 2 sessions a day. I hate having my breasts stimulated every 3 hours, every day of my life.

2-3. I'd rather stick needles in my eyeballs than pump.
But that will not give me breastmilk so I'm screwed.

@blackbird: I've been pretty lucky and never really struggled with supply so I've never had to pump more than 5 times a day. I dropped to 4 about 2 months ago because I have a pretty large stash and just started to hate pumping so much. I tried to drop to 3 a few weeks ago, but I started producing 6-8 oz. less which was enough to scare me into going back to 4.. MEN ARE SO LUCKY!

@PrincessBaby: I feel you.. some days I just keep putting it off.. and putting it off.. because it sucks so bad. I literally hate everything about pumping. Setting up, the actual pumping doesn't feel good, cleaning up, washing pump parts, storing excess milk, defrosting milk.. it all sucks. Sheesh.. what we do for our beautiful babies!

I only work a couple days a week-12 hour nights so I will pump 4x on a day I work. Once right before I leave, twice at work, and then I rush home to nurse and then pump the other side.
If I don't work the only time I pump is during the night/early morning if LO STTN.

@LaineysMom: I think what really got me going were clogged ducts. I always got them! OMG! If I was an hour late I would develop a clog =( I was too scared to pump less. You're doing a great job mama!!

On days that I work I pump 4 times (roughly 6, 9, 12, 3) and then nurse 1-2 times. On days that I don't work I only pump in the morning after nursing. We have a sight deficit over the course of the week (1-2 bottles), but I had a decent freezer stash before going back to work. I've thought about adding a pump before bed, but I'm not a fan of pumping and cannot imagine doing it 5x a day on work days.

When I exclusively pumped, I pumped upwards up 8-10 times a day for the longest time. I was so afraid of issues with my supply, even though I made enough to cover my LO's daily needs and also freeze a bag a day. By the year mark, I had dropped down to 5 times a day. I just didn't know how to pump less because I was used to the frequency. It was hard enough dropping down to 5. It was even harder to wean. Clogged ducts... ugh.

7 times per day, the same number of times they take a bottle. I don't think I'll ever be able to drop a session. With twins, I need every drop and I'm too afraid that dropping a session will decrease my supply.

I won't be able to do 7x/day when I go back to work, that's for sure! I hope my supply picks up, but as it is right now, I make about 400ml/day

I pump at work only, and for the last few weeks I've been doing 2x a day. I did 3x a day for the first six months of pumping though.

i always pump in the morning because i'm so engorged. on weekdays, i pump 2x at work, so a total of 3x.... on weekends, i don't pump at all other than the mornings, which is great. i hate pumping.

When CC was younger I'd have to pump before I nursed because I was so engorged.... that was 1-2x in the night/morning. She's 9 months not and I usually only pump 1x/day at work (about 10 min). I prob should pump twice... just can't find the time! 3 more months I have to pump.... then we'll see
