DS is nearly 6 weeks old 
and I feel like we go through diapers like it's nobody's business. I bought a 100 box a week ago and it is 2/3 gone. At 25 bucks, that's close to 100 dollars a month on diapers. (We use the swaddlers.) Is this normal? How much do you spend per month?

$30. We use Up and Up, and at 22 months, H only uses 5-6 diapers a day.

I'm not sure how many we use because I've switched brands so many times that I'm not buying on a regular schedule.
However, keep in mind that you will use fewer diapers because you'll change less often as baby gets older. DS used to poop after (or during) each feeding, but at 14 weeks he only goes 1-3 times per day. Other than poops, we change at every daytime feeding (5 times, BF and formula). He also sleeps longer at night and I don't change him until morning.
Although I do completely understand what you're talking about, it's a lot of money to literally throw in the garbage! Try Amazon mom. I just ordered a case of our new brand (140, size 3) for about $40 and I expect it to last about 3 weeks.

Look into Amazon subscribe and save pricing. Saved us a lot! We used Pampers swaddlers too, and I want to say we spent about $50-$60 a month on diapers when LO was a newborn (??)

I just got 150 swaddlers for 28 bucks on Amazon, not sure why I didn't look there sooner. I buy everything off amazon.

You'll spend a LOT less as your LO gets older!!!! We went through boxes of disposables the first few weeks before T fit into cloth.

I spend about £20 a month, my LO is 19 months and wears pampers bought from Amazon, so much cheaper than the shops!

Definitely use Amazon subscribe & save. Also - the number of diapers / day slows down a LOT after the first few months. He only poops every few days and otherwise I only change him with each feed (which slows down too!)

I think around $50 / month? He's 8m and poops once maybe twice a day....and I otherwise change the pee diapers every 2-3 hours. I don't change him overnight. We buy the ginormous boxes from amazon or diapers.com, depending on price.

Amazon subscribe and save. I got a case of Huggies for $32 last month. Out of the 216, we still have 70 or so diapers. She poops 1-3x a day or every other day now at 11 weeks. I also change where're she is wet, which is 6-7x a day. So, we still use on average 10 diapers a day. I don't like the Huggies so I'm going back to pampers swaddlers. But, I like the swaddlers sensitive the best, and don't want to order a case on the subscribe and save since I'm not sure how much longer she will be in size 1, and they don't have smaller sizes for subscribe and save. I always use coupons if I don't buy from Amazon. For example, they sent a bunch of baby coupons two weeks ago, and I have a $10 off $50 diapers and wipes coupon I will use at the end of this month for September. To answer your question I would say no more than $50 for diapers AND wipes. We buy big cases of Huggies or pampers wipes, and I usually find a coupon online or in the paper for those as well. I try to look at the price per diaper, and then when I see 17 cents or so, it doesn't hurt so bad lol.

I'm not sure without looking back at our budget, but I use coupons and save a bunch. We used Pampers when he was tiny but now we use Huggies. Check out the Krazy Coupon lady or Hip2Save for deals.

$70ish. We do Amazon Mom/S&S and get a "premium" brand (Bambo Nature) that usually runs about $65+tax for a 6-pack box. But we usually don't go through all of them before the next shipment comes, so every few months we push the delivery out a couple weeks.

You will spend a lot less as they get older. Right now we go through diapers like crazy for DD (4 1/2 weeks) but for my son we buy a big box of Pampers Baby Dry on sale every month for $30 and it lasts us the month.

75 month. I have two in diapers though. Def amazon subscribe and save is way to go.

@simplyfelicity: Definitely spent way more when DS was that age! Maybe $100 a month sounds right. Now at 11 months (today!) I'd say we only go through 4 diapers a day? (On average) so that same box of 100 would last us close to a month. Makes a really big difference. (Not just financially but also psychologically. I remember when it felt like ALL I did was change diapers. It was brutal!)

@jhd: Can I ask where you find Huggies for less than Pampers? I now like Huggies and was always under the impression they were cheaper than Pampers, but everywhere I've looked they are exactly the same price!

$20 per month (target brand) for LO 2 who uses a combo of cloth and disposables.
Prob a lot more for my newborn. We will use cloth when she is bigger but she is under 6lbs and disposables are just easier right now.

We buy at Costco- we get maybe one box every 6 weeks or so, and the boxes are $35.99. So about 30'per month, roughly.

It's hard in the beginning. I was cloth diapering and remember a day that I changed 18 diapers in one day. She just kept pooping! It gets better. After one we can get away with 5-7 a day depending on the number of poops.

It does get cheaper eventually as the baby wears fewer each day! It's still $$$ though - I find buying ahead when there are special promos (I like to stack Pampers coupons with Target gift card offers, which they run every few months) helps, once you know you'll be in a particular size for awhile!

@SweetiePie: They are generally the same price, but I think there are generally more coupons for Huggies on places like coupons.com etc. more often. I mostly use Hip2Save to find out what the deals are for each week and what coupons to use. Here's an example of this week's Target deals. Scroll down past all the food stuff and baby should be the next category. She explains what coupons to use and what you can expect to pay. If you are interested in shopping at Target sign up for their mobile coupons for baby and the Cartwheel app. There is occasionally a coupon on Cartwheel for 5% off diapers, but there are frequently mobile coupons for boxed Huggies diapers. So for example last week I bought two super packs of diapers, had two manufacturers coupons, one Target coupon, and got back $10 in gift cards. I used some gift cards I had from buying diapers last time so I only paid about $30 cash. Hope that makes sense.

26 months old. We've always used the Seventh Generation. We buy from Target for a bit under $20 per 2-pack. In size 4, that's 54: diapers, we use 4-5/day, which works out to... $50/month or so. We used a lot more when DS was younger, but the smaller sizes had more diapers, so the cost has been pretty steady I think.

We LOVE the Up & Up brand at Target! They're super cheap, and also awesome. They're soft, and work really well for our LO.

Was probably doing 8-10 diapers at that age though...but you get more in a box for the same price. I doubt it has ever been more than $60/month.

In the beginning is def way more. DD is 8 mo now and I now pretty much know that she goes through like 5-6 diapers. Sometimes she is annoying and chooses to poop right after I change her... Haha. Before 6 mo tho we probably go through 8-10 a day.

so this probably sounds bad, but I went through swaddlers faster than other brands (which is what I think they want you to do) b/c I changed him every time the stripe turned blue, but in reality they hold way more than one pee! My son is now 25 months and uses one overnight diaper and probably 5ish during the day depending on his poop schedule. We buy loves for the day and go through maybe a box a month... it isn't so bad now!

@reverie: yeah - I think you just have to ignore the blue line a bit. We change with feelings or with we hear/smell a poop.

I intensely stocked up on diapers when I was pregnant (you can do even exchanges at Walmart and Target for different sizes) and spent $150 for 6 months worth of diapers and wipes. When those ran out I stocked up on another coupon + clearance deal and got 4 more months of diapers and wipes for about $75. I am working through my last box of that hoard and have had to run out here and there to buy full price diapers when DS was slightly between sizes. I stocked up when I was motivated knowing when I was lazy I would just go and buy at full price. I think in addition to the full price purchases, we've spent about $300 this year and DS just turned 11 months.

About $8/mo. But I buy the big packs of target brand and we only use one/day overnight (we cloth diaper during the day).
