My girls usually end up with a ponytail thrown in, and that's it! They just do not sit still, and if they do and I am able to do their hair nice it only lasts an hour, tops. I see all these little girls at school with their hair done up nice everyday...I just don't have the energy!

Well, I have boys, but it takes a fair amount of time to get their hair in order.
DS1 has a ton of hair (he's 3). Every morning I have to wet it, comb it, use product, and then blow dry it for a few seconds to get it to stay out of his face. I've asked him if he wants to cut it shorter so we don't have to do all that, and he's insistent on leaving it how it is (which is fine by me).
DS2 is still a baby, but he has really curly hair. I have to wet it and comb through it gently, or else it knots pretty badly.

For my daughter, I usually just use a barrette to keep her hair out of her eyes and that's it.
Today, however, she requested piggies, so I put her hair up and then she wanted AAALLLL the barrettes, and put them in herself.

Next to none. My mom says she looks like a feral child. She takes out any ponys or barrettes I put in, and hates having it brushed, and it has just enough wave to always look messy.

DD1 is in a don't touch my hair phase which totally bums me out.
DD2 let's me do what I want. She sits still enough if she is watching a video. -
During the week - pretty nil effort. LO's hair is very, very long and very fine so it tangles in like 0.2 seconds, so I spend a lot of time brushing it out every morning and evening, but she prefers to wear it down at school mostly.
On the weekends we have fun with hair. Braids, "Elsa hair", "jedi hair" (aka, Rey's 3-bun thing from the new Star Wars), etc.

DD has curly hair so I have to wet it, brush it and then add product everyday - its not a lot of effort but I cant just brush it and let it be

My LO is still asleep in the morning when I leave for work. Bless my husband he sure does try and usually puts her hair in a half up pony tail (her teachers often make it look prettier after he drops her off
). So on the weekends when I actually get to get her ready for the day I like to do cute pigtails or bows if she'll sit still long enough to let me.

I put a ponytail in DD's hair half the time, but otherwise just let it go. Lately DS has wanted his hair blow dried after his bath, so I do that to his. They don't have a ton of hair, though.

Most times not much. But I've gotten better at different braids so when there's time and patience from us both we take a few and try out some fun dos.

I do both girls hair every morning. The 18 month old gets high piggies with the back being down. The older, I try to keep her hair out of her face. It's often in pigtails as well. Today she had pig tails and then I braided each. The older kid's hair takes longer, it's about to her bottom.

Most days, it gets brushed and put in a small pony up top. That's all I have the energy for. She hates having her hair combed/brushed and I'm not giving her screen time just so she will sit still and not cry.

No effort. If I put in a pony or clip she rips it out. She still is working on growing her hair.

Very little, since she usually hates having stuff in her hair. I brush it and may do a simple ponytail, but usually nothing.

Minimal effort--my LO has medium curls, so I wet it with a brush each morning (otherwise her hair looks like a lion's mane when she wakes up), and then I use a touch of Miss Jessie's Multicultural curls on it, and stick a hair bow on one side to pin back her bangs.
HOWEVER, my husband just brushes it DRY (the horrors), so half the time she looks like a hot mess.

Two boys and we don't put in an effort into it. Sometimes Xander will wake up with serious bedhead, so we might try getting it to lay flat, but we don't spent more than five seconds on it.

@Anagram: @Mamaof2: I always brush H's curly hair dry. Mine is a different kind of curly and I never brush it (always comb it), but hers settle down into their natural curl after a few minutes.

Not much unfortunately. I usually just put it half up/down but would like to experiment with braids and things. She had her dance recital rehearsal yesterday and let me put it in a bun so I think that's progress

Her hair is almost always in braids of some kind--they stay in all day, through naps, carpet angels, you name it (this pic is post nap)!

A lot of effort at bath time to condition and detangle it (he has long, fairly curly hair). But day to day, not much, usually wears it down or up in a ponytail/bun and we're good to go.

DD absolutely hates getting her hair done, so I usually put the front part in a little side ponytail or put a bow on the side to get her bangs out of her face. I am trying to grow her bangs out so she can tuck her hair behind her ear or put her hair all the way up in a ponytail. I can't wait for her to develop more patience with hairstyling so I can do french braids and updos on her!! I do them on myself often, so I wouldn't mind the time commitment!

I'm not allowed to do anything except one small braid on the side of her head. She will only wear her hair in a ponytail if we are at the pool or beach. Damn picky child...

Because of her hair type and length I put a lot of effort into her hair. I normally spend 2-3 hours on Sundays doing her hair for the week in cornrows or twists. If I don't have time she wears her fro but that takes work in the mornings so I prefer more protective hairstyles that can last 2-5 days and through naps and just being a kid.

We are in process of growing out LO's bangs. So everyday I pull at least part of her hair back to keep it out of her face. She has really fine hair, so nothing stays well.

I have boys, so I feel like I have it easier. If we have nothing going on, they don't get their hair combed. If we have somewhere to be, or the oldest has school, then we comb their hair.

Not a lot but it's mostly out of laziness on my part. Every once in awhile I'll braid it but I think her hair looks nice down so most of the time I just brush it with detangler and usually tie it on one side to keep her hair out of her face

My LO's hair is pretty long for 14 months (I think?) and the back was getting all knotted so I finally bought some detangler and will give her a quick comb in the am. And then she gets a clip because otherwise it falls in her face. For a while she left the clips alone but she rips them out sometimes now, thankfully not too much hair comes with it!

Very little and it depends on what she wants. Some days she doesn't want me to brush it and i have enough battles to fight so whatever. Sometimes she wants a bow or pony or whatever.
@Mamaof2: @Anagram: hers is curly and I often brush it dry. I know I shouldn't but she doesn't want me to wet it and it gets almost matted in the back and needs to be combed out. So dry brush it is. It looks best when I just brush it right after bath and that's it but it gets so messy while she sleeps.

LO1 will only let me put it in a high pony or a half pony. She will let her teachers, cousins, babysitters, etc braid it, but not me. At least she lets me put in hair bows.

We keep E's short, in a bob, because she hates me messing with it.

@Foodnerd81: Thanks! Our routine is to do her hair in the morning when she's eating breakfast. Some days she asks for something specific (braids are her usual choice), and other days she just lets me do whatever.

About 30 seconds. For DS brushing is optional. DD often gets a barrette or a mini ponytail sticking straight up

DD's hair is very fine so it tangles easily and she hates having it brushed. The fanciest thing I do is put it in a simple braid/pony tail. Otherwise it's down, in a pony, or a clip in front.
