It rarely happened, but we just left the carrier. Now that she's bigger, we just bring her in. It has only come up once where we needed to switch the convertible seat out and we just left it in the front office with her name on it.

At our daycare they have an separate area from the classroom where you can leave strollers and car seats - maybe you just didn't see that area - can you ask?

We have one bucket infant seat and two bases.

Did you ask? Our first daycare had a closet for them, but didn't show us on the tour until we asked. The current daycare allows us to leave our "bucket" seat in the hall space outside the classroom, and we have two bases.

We actually have two infant car seats and two bases (two of the same). Our daycare allows, but does not encourages, leaving the seat. We didn't go the convertible route because the infant seats fit better in our vehicles. I personally would not want to leave the seat. I would be too paranoid that it would fall or get otherwise banged up without me knowing.

Our daycare let us leave the carrier. It seems like there were a lot of parents that had to share pick up/drop off duties and just left the seat there.

Neither of the two daycares LO has been to allowed us to leave the seat on a daily basis. If all the babies were left with seats it would take up too much room. It was allowed occasionally for grandparent pickups or things of that nature.

Our infant seat has a base and we both have one in our car, but our schedule works where if you do drop off you are also picking up!

We can't leave the baby in the car seat at daycare (they aren't allowed to take LO out or put her in it) but they have storage for the car seats. We have one infant car seat and two bases. I always carry her inside in the car seat and then drop it in the storage area. Ask your daycare for policies.
