If you are pregnant with your 2nd/3rd/4th/etc child, do your other children know there is a baby in your stomach?
My oldest (3 years old) gets confused and thinks that my boobs are two babies. He's also asked DH if he has a baby in his stomach. My youngest is 11 months and of course has no idea.

I don't think she gets it but just repeats everything, but my 20 month old will point to my belly and say sister baby lol

My 3 year old kind of gets it. If I ask him where the new baby is, he says in my tummy. My 17 month old has no idea.

My oldest gets it. She knows there's a baby, that it's a girl and will come play with us soon.
She also thinks she has a boy baby in her belly.
So maybe not 100% on the concept.

Yes, he likes to tell me that baby sister is growing big in mama's tummy, and that Santa is going to bring her home to him at Christmas. Last night he told me that when she gets big enough in my tummy Santa is going to bring her home and my tummy would get small again. I thought that was an impressive leap of logic for a 3 year old!

Yes, M is almost three and knows there's a baby. She points to my stomach, kisses it and says "hi baby."

yep, baby sister is in mama's tummy, but she's not ready yet, but she's going to come out in time for halloween to be baby margaret. (hope she's right!!)

She is 27 months and kind of gets it. She knows there's a baby in my belly and her baby sister is "going to be so tiny!" (Said in the same voice I used when we met a new baby). But she frequently says she has a baby in her belly too.
@lovehoneybee: sometimes I eat enough peanut butter that I feel like it's growing in my tummy too.

My 21 month old has grasped that there's a baby in somebody's tummy, but he seems to think that it's his. When I say anything about a baby he pulls up his shirt and points at his own stomach and says "baby!"

My five year old gets it. My 3.5 year old does as well, but he probably remembers when I was pregnant with my 22 month old. My 22 month old doesn't really. He points to my belly and says baby, but I don't think it goes beyond that.

DS is 2 and he sorta kinda gets it on a good day. At first, it was an epic fail when we explained it.
DH was telling him about it while rubbing my belly so DS rubbed my belly, then kissed it, then hugged it. We were all like awww. Then, he patted my boob and asked baby? *facepalm*
Then another time, he lifted his shirt and pointed to his belly and asked "baby?". Nope. Only mommy can have babies.

My almost 3 year old gets it. Her friends mommies all had their 2nd before I did so she has a concept that Baby A used to be in Miss J's tummy and now she is out. So my LO tells me all the time "Baby brother is in mommy's tummy, he's gonna grow bigger in there and then come out for my birthday". (PS, Dear God, please don't let him be born on her birthday)

We've been talking about TTC soon and now at 3.5 he is asking when I'm going to have a baby in my belly and if he is going to have a brother or sister. We had a friend who just had a baby which is how he knows babies grow in the mommy's belly.

When DS was 3 he kind of, sort of got it. But he would still try to hop on my back or wrestle me! When he was 5, he definitely understood. He would sing to my bump!

I haven't told either of my LOs yet as I'm still quite newly pregnant, but I would imagine my nearly 3.5 yr old will get it (and probably not be pleased!) and my 20 month old will probably just pat my belly a lot and say 'baby!' (She's a bit obsessed with babies so I think she's going to be ecstatic that there is a real one coming to our house!)

The 3 year old gets it, he got it when I was pregnant before too (at under 2).
The 14 month old has absolutely no clue.
We don't really talk about though and I don't look pregnant at all so it's not like it comes up at all.

He definitely gets it now but in the beginning he kept saying that baby was in my boobies. Weird. He's 2.5. He kisses my tummy all the time and says, "I love you baby/brother". He talks about when baby comes out and he likes to look at pics of me pregnant with him and talks about how he was in my tummy and came out and was a baby.

I've told my son (2.5) and he will say there is a baby in mommy's belly, but I am not sure if he really gets what that means. Especially because sometimes he will say there is a baby in his belly too!

My 3 year old understood the concept quicker than we expected, we should have waited a bit to tell her because the process is taking too long for her haha. She knows there's a baby in my tummy and there isn't one in her tummy so she can go in the hot tub. She also knows that her brother is coming at Christmas time and she will hold him and teach him how to kick and eat oranges (awwww). The sweetest is she says that when she grows up she will be a mommy and be with her baby, the nicest compliment I feel.

This is funny to read that my DS is not the only who thinks the baby is in boobie. Sometimes he'll laugh and say "mommy, baby in your boobie?" And I'll say no baby in my tummy. Lol! But if asked what's in my tummy he'll always answer baby. Sometimes he also asks mommy what's baby name. We don't know yet so well ask him what do you want to name the baby. He doesn't know how to answer yet.
