I didn't do anything particularly special for baby #1 so the bar was fairly low for #2. With that said, I did have a sprinkle for LO2 (know this is controversial on HB ) and that was really special. Most of the time I forgot I was pregnant and it was really special for me to have a night of just focusing on LO2's arrival.

@agold: Random, but do you happen to have any siblings? I'm a non-first-child and I've never once asked my mom (or noticed) if my mom documented her pregnancy with me less or more. It's not like she loved/loves me less than my siblings or wasn't excited for me. It's just the way life is. You will still love that baby fiercely

We did just a dinner for my sprinkle after bedtime and it was absolutely perfect! I think a brunch sounds wonderful.

You know, I didn't do much for my first pregnancy, or my second. But when my first was born I did this cool shutterfly book about his birth and first couple weeks of life... and I still need to make an equivalent for my almost 1-year old.

I didn't really do anything for DS2 other than book newborn photos. Like, the kid slept in a PNP until he was almost a year old because I was too lazy to disassemble the crib in DS1's room and move it to his room. I think he got a decorated room finally right before his 1st birthday.

Like with DS1, we did newborn photos, 100 day photos (Korean thing), and 1 year photos plus a big 1st birthday party. That was...about it. I got him a few new sleepers and a going home outfit from the hospital, but really we just joke that we got DS2 a minivan when he was born.

No guilt. But I wasn't really into celebrating my pregnancies in either case.

Oh and lo2 had only half a room (shared) and now we have 4 bedrooms and they refuse to separate. 🤷‍♀️

I didn’t do bump photos with my first either, but we did maternity photos with #1 and not #2. Partly that was just timing, since we always take photos in the summer, but I do wish I had them for #2.

I made my son (#2) a quilt while I was pregnant which I didn’t do for my daughter (#1) because I hadn’t started quilting yet. I’m glad he at least has one special thing and I hope to make one for her someday.

We also made sure to get newborn photos for each of them and I love them! I still regularly look at them and show them to the kids (now 3 and 4.)

I did bump photos every few weeks with #1 and had baby showers but nothing else to really document the pregnancy. A family member gave me a pregnancy journal but I barely filled it out.

I am 10 weeks with #2 and am putting a reminder on my to do list to start taking bump pics! Planning to do a newborn photo shoot again and will purchase the same baby book that I had for DS 1 but it took me over a year to complete it so I'm sure it will be even longer this time around.

I am the first born and my baby book was way more complete than both of my brother's but I honestly think I am the only one that ever noticed or paid attention. Don't be too hard on yourself!

I also felt guilty about doing less for the second. So I started doing daily meditations to connect with the pregnancy and feel centered. There's an app specifically for it called Expectful. And I also did the hypnobabies tracks.

@agold: thanks, you too!!! And it was totally worth it. Maybe we'll have more kids, I don't know... either way, I need way more time off than I have because the oldest is in school and they have all these vacations! And ugh, having a nanny is expensive! I hope you're able to find someone awesome, even if it is only two days.

If we are blessed with a second I am for sure doing a belly cast!

@agold: I'd have it wall mounted and probably put it in my bedroom. Where we live now I have the wall space in my master or dining room. A belly caster on my local FB also does infant hands and feet casts. Another special thing to do would get both girls hands cast at the same time and display them together like big sis/ lil sis.
