Her other books are awesome! I can't wait for more. I read that she's also working on a TV series.

I'll have to give them a shot! I HATED the ending to gone girl - absolutely despised it, and i hadn't planned on reading anything else by the author, but perhaps now I will

I wanted so badly to love gone girl but didn't. What's better about the others? Convince me

@Pirouette: the endings are still, "what?!" but don't suck. IMO anyway!!

I hated Gone Girl and never made it more than a few pages into her other books...I'm not sure if either of them are for me.

I found a site that listed books to read if you loved Gone Girl (wish I could find it!), but one of the books listed was 'Before I Go to Sleep' - very good, highly recommend it!

I haven't read the book but that movie was filmed in the town directly south of my hometown. My Facebook feed was a little crazy for awhile as everyone had to comment about their sightings. I am wanting to read the book & watch the movie because of this connection Now I'm worried.

I hated Gone Girl! If the best thing about the other books is that the endings don't suck (as much), then I don't know if I want to even give them a shot! Are the characters more likeable?

@Mrs. High Heels: I thought so. I got pretty sucked into Gone Girl, and the ended enraged me..haha. I was so mad. Funnily enough, I don't even remember the ending anymore!! Sharp Edges took me a chapter to get into, and Dark Places I was sucked into immediately. That character, at first, made me cringe but as they develop her story, she becomes likable..as do the rest of her family. It's a really, really interesting book.

I am not loving Dark Places and it's taking me forever to get through it.
I love Gillian because none of her characters are really likeable, which I found out with Gone Girl. I will keep reading DP but man, it's feeling like a chore although I rushed through SE & GG.

I have a soft spot for Gone Girl because they filmed the movie in my hometown. I've never read anything else by her though.

I thought the ending to Gone Girl was totally weak and even felt that that way (tho not as bad) about Dark Places too.
That said, I really enjoyed reading both bc the majority if the stories are captivating. I am by no means a book snob but I personally have the impression now that Flynn just isn't good at writing endings.
