Anyone have any idea of what the mid-teen crowd is into? Or seen any good gift guides? Thanks!

I feel like this age is so tricky. My goddaughter is 16 now. Last year for Christmas I got her a Starbucks gift card (I know she loves it!) and some cozy pajama bottoms. I am not terribly creative when it comes to teen and adult presents!

Something for her phone? a long cord, an extra charger or on-the-go charger or these stands for you phone? My nieces love theirs.

My sisters are 14 and 17 - this year I am giving them cozy socks in colors they love and iTunes gift cards. They generally like to pick out their own things so it's easier to do a gift card.
Scarves, jewelry, cute pouches/small bags, cute throw blanket, makeup/nail polish, and lounge at home clothes are things I've done fairly recently.
For gift cards I've had good luck with Amazon, iTunes, their local movie theater, Sephora, francesca's, and newbury comics.
At this age interests are all over the place it's so hard to predict what various girls will like.

Makeup? Or maybe some fun products from LUSH or Bath and Body Works? I have younger sisters that are around that pre-teen age and I gave them an Elf cosmetics eye shadow palettes and some other make up products last year...they have big holiday sets out at Target right now.
Otherwise maybe an iTunes or Amazon gift card? My sisters spend a lot of time on their phones/tablets playing games and listening to music.
I'm going to get my youngest sister a cozy blanket and a cute mug with some nice hot chocolates this year. She loves hot chocolate and cozying up on the couch with a book or her tablet.
@catgirl: movie theater gift cards are a great idea! My sisters would love that too!

We just had a white elephant gift exchange with out youth group and boys and girls alike we're fighting over one of those super fuzzy and cozy 25 dollar throw blankets. Even I wanted it lol That would be a good gift!

Thank you, ladies!
@jhd: @bookwormmama: Ahh, a Starbucks gift card/hot chocolate and a cute travel mug is a great idea! I'll look for the eye shadow palettes.
@LibbyLou: Those are awesome!
@catgirl: I'm going to use some of your ideas too! I think you're right about gift cards--one will definitely be part of the package.
@Mrs. Sunshine: I hadn't even thought of room decor/fun linens. That's a good idea!

The 2 kids I drew for our secret santa in the family are teenagers. They both requested clothes and makeup so I'm thinking a gift card to Sephora, Bath & Body Works, Lush, Etc?
They also requested mermaid tail blankets.

@Alivoo01: I decided that I'm definitely doing a GC and some other items. In addition to the things above--mug, movie tickets, etc--I was thinking maybe some nice gel pens and nail polish. I really liked stationary-related things at that age and every high-schooler uses pens. I admit that makeup hadn't really occurred to me before this thread because I don't really experiment with it anymore! (Old lady over here! )
This thread has been super helpful! Thanks, everyone!

What about a trendy accessory like a choker? The 90's are very in right now (which totally makes me lol), but there are lots of great options that aren't expensive. That and a flannel shirt (or a cold shoulder body suit - another huge lol), and you would have that decade covered.
