I have a librarian friend in another state who has a very tall 1.5 year old daughter. I'm going to see her over the holidays while traveling to see my family and want to get her daughter a little gift, because I only see them once a year or so (we've moved far away).

I have no clue how this friend dresses her daughter. But I'm thinking of buying an outfit from the Olivia line at Gymboree and adding in an Olivia book (since I know her mom loves books). Mom is a HS librarian, so not sure how "up" she is on kids books and don't know how she feels about character clothing.

But I feel like this stuff is slightly cuter than typical character clothing. Also, I just happen to like black and red. I'm thinking the black and white checked pants, the headband, and one of the Olivia T-shirts (with an actual Olivia pig on it). We are not bffs, so I'm not looking to spend tons of money.

Here's the line: http://www.gymboree.com/shop/toddler-girls-clothing/olivia-for-gymboree

Hate or cute?
