Was it uncomplicated? Or did issues arise? I'm having an induction tomorrow after a successful vaginal delivery with my first. Doctor seems to think it will go smoothly since my cervix is very favorable and it's my second. But I'm nervous after hearing some stories of it ending up taking 30+ hours and C-sections etc. Thanks for your stories!

I've told you mine before. Got to hospital around 9:30, Doctor broke my water and had baby before 11:30 am!

I had a successful non induced vaginal birth with LO1. I was induced for LO2 at 41+3. I got to the hospital at 7:30 but things were pushed back for other women in labor. Started pitocin at 10:30, only progressed from 3 to 4cm by 2:30. Water was broken at 2:45 and she was born by 6. I hemmorhaged but that was probably due to me pushing harder to get her out. 7.5 hours start to finish and I was able to avoid an epidural like I had wanted to. I was also worried about a long labor leading to a c-section but it went better than my spontaneous labor.

As you know, just had mine last week. Was 10 hrs from start to finish. Only pushed for a half hour and was dilated at 2cm from the start. It was a great experience for me! Wishing you much luck.

My first induction took a while but still resulted in uncomplicated vaginal birth (really just over 24 hrs but wasn't really ka boring more than 12-16).
Second induction went even better because obviously I think my body knew what to do.

I had a spontaneous first vaginally delivery and was induced with my second 10 days overdue. I was having contractions when I arrived and we only did Cytotec to induce (I was given the choice for that or pitocin) and the labor went well! Way faster than with my first!!

@travellingbee: they had *just* started pitocin when labor started. I highly doubt the pitocin had much play in labor starting. I think for me the water breaking was the push the baby needed.

I was induced with my second at 42 weeks. I was 4cm dilated and 90% effaced. They barely turned on the pitocin (lowest level, then turned it right off) and I went right into labor - stupid easy fast labor!
DD was out in about 3.5 hours!

My first induction was at 36 weeks, uncomplicated and about 12 hours from start to finish.
Second was 39 weeks, also uncomplicated and about 14 hours.

@travellingbee: I was a loose 2cm and 70% the day before and barely at 3cm and still 70% the morning of my induction. Good luck tomorrow, though! It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!

@travellingbee: what time are you scheduled for? Don't forget to call before heading in. Just as I was getting out of the shower the hospital called me and told me to stay put because all their rooms were full. Good luck tomorrow!

@travellingbee: yup. My hospital had a lot of overnight deliveries! I was scheduled for 7 am too.

@travellingbee: I went at 7:30. They were going to start around 8:30 after I was done with paperwork but they had five women come in 7cm and up (one was already at a 9). I had a room and had filled things out already so they just gave us vouchers for free breakfast until they were ready at 10/10:30. Hopefully tomorrow is a slow day for them so you can get started!

@travellingbee: I could eat all I wanted before (she strongly encouraged me to eat breakfast again during the delay). I could only have water, clear soda, and jello after they started the pitocin though. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you!

Thanks everyone! I talked to my friend whose story was really worrying me. It was her third and she was in labor (after being induced) for over 30 hours. It was freaking me out. But. She clarified that she was induced 3.5 weeks early for medical reasons and her body wasn't ready. So totally different. I didn't know that part of the story, so between that and the good stories here, I'm feeling better! Thank you!

I had an induction with my second and it was super fast (6 hours). I was barely dilated at 40 weeks.

I had an induction at 39 weeks with number 2. Went in at 5 am and had a baby by 2 pm. They used a Foley bulb and Pitocin. Super easy and uncomplicated

I was induced with #2 for IUGR. No issues at all. I was already dilated and effaced at 38w. Good luck!!

It was easy peasy. Pitocin at 5am, water broke on its own at 830 and baby by 945!

I was induced with #1 at 37 weeks due to IUGR. Labored for 7 hours and pushed him out on the 3rd set of pushes. Awesome L&D experience!
Probably will get induced for #2 as for the same reason if DD keeps up the way she is. Hoping/praying for similar L&D experience as DS!
