We did not have an oops baby....

Both were planned, and both are boys!

Our planned baby is a girl and our 'surprise' baby is a boy.

Both of ours were planned and we have one of each

@ladybee: My parents have four kids - 2 older girls that were real and true oops 13 months apart. A couple years later they planned to have a 3rd and it was a boy. Not long after (still hadn't figured out that BF isn't birth control!) they had another oops who was my littlest sister. So their 3 unplanned were girls and the one planned was a boy!

My first was after actively TTC for over a year and he's a boy. My second was kinda an oops (meaning we were "avoiding" but not super careful and I had a feeling immediately) and he's also a boy!

We were actively trying and had a boy.

@ladybee: There is a whole theory on gender selection based on the fact that boy sperm swim faster but girl sperm live longer.. but I'm not sure how this would affect TTC vs not. An oops baby can come from sex before ovulation or after ovulation. So it's a matter of timing, not planned vs oops.

Our baby we TTC was a girl and our suprise was a boy (conceived when I thought I was 48 hours past ovulation and therefore in the clear but apparently not)

@ladybee: what your friend believes is true. But I don't think there's a correlation to oops babies. It's more when they had intercourse in relation to her ovulation.

None of mine were planned per se and we had boy, girl, boy (on the way).

LO was a surprise and a girl, but we did conceive right around ovulation. I was tracking my cycle to prevent (half-heartedly) and checked my app after, and saw that I was right smack in my fertile window. So, if we had been trying we would have likely tried on that day? So it's a toss-up.

I understand what you are saying about oops versus trying because the idea is if you are trying, you will time more closely to ovulation. But, like in my case, folks might unintentionally time closely to ovulation. How close to ovulation were you when you conceived?

i have one girl and another on the way. one we were TTC and the other was an oops. but in retrospect, we DTD the day before and day of O on our second daughter.

It is looking like it is 50/50 boy/girl whether TTC or oops.

DD was a surprise. DS was planned.

Both babies planned, one girl and one boy. I even think we dtd around the same time in my cycle which was day before O.

Both of mine that I know the sex of were girls. The first was actively trying, the second was a sort of oops (DH pulled the goalie just once that month), both were conceived right at ovulation.
