I wouldn't change it! I like @jedeve's suggestion of making it into a cute story. The name is so beautiful and classic!

I wouldn't change it. It's special to you. And while you may get those comments off and on for the first year, no one is going to see your daughter five years from now and think to ask if she was named after the royal princess.

Where I am from in the U.S., people don't seem concerned at all with the royal family. I had totally forgotten the name of their first child.

I would go with Charlotte. It's a lovely name and has an even lovelier story behind it.

I wouldn't consider changing it for one second... Mostly because your son picked it. I did joke about several things relating the royal baby's to our own "princess's" arrival, but in the end, really could not care less about any similarities. Hang in there, mama & can't wait to hear about your beautiful Charlotte's arrival!

I already have a Charlotte and am thrilled about the name choice! I'm glad people will think she's named after Princess Charlotte (even though she's older) instead of where I was really inspired to use the name and that was from Sex and the City, which is more embarrassing to me

You could always call her Lottie.

    I'd still use it.

I wouldn't change it. Even if you pick a different name (that you like less) Kim Kardashian or someone may name their baby that and you'd be screwed anyway. It's a beautiful name!

@DillonLion: LOL, I actually love the name Charlotte and it's totally from SATC as well! She was my favorite character.

It's already a pretty popular name, so no, I wouldn't be worried about this!

Honestly, I am SURE you'll get some questions about the royal baby when you first tell people (in the first month). People forget things quickly, and after the buzz from this royal baby settles, I bet no one will say anything.

I think Charlotte is absolutely beautiful!!
