Charlie has a friend who looks totally asian, but her little sister has red hair and looks totally white (mom is american and a redhead, dad is asian).
I honestly don't know who the kids resemble. We hear different things, but I can't really see either of our faces in them. They are 1/2 Korean, 1/4 Japanese, 1/4 white and they definitely look Asian. But do they look more Korean? I think Charlie could pass for Korean or Japanese, but maybe Olive looks more Korean?
I don't know!

DS1 & DS2 both have very dark hair/eyes, but DS2's complexion is a bit darker. I think DS1 just looks straight up white to most people, DS2 is too little to tell just yet.

I don't think a lot of non asians can identify the ethnicities in the Asian race, honestly. An unfamiliar person, in your example, mrs. Bee, wouldn't be able to distinguish Japanese from Korean (which are ethnicities in my understanding of race/ethnicity/nationality).

J is Indonesian (DH)and Portuguese/white (me). He looks just like me but has DH's darker complexion and dark hair.

I am 1/2 Cuban & 1/2 white, and DH is black. Right now LO is 11 weeks & people say she looks like both of us. I think she will grow up to look more black than anything - I'm not sure anyone will guess that she is mixed race.

DS is half Mexican and 1/4 Japanese 1/4 Okinawan. When he was born he looked like my husband's clone but as he continues to get older(only 5 months right now) he looks more like me. I really thought he would really pull my husband's Asian side so much more

@daniellemybelle: I just met a black Cuban. She told me post people think she's Dominican. So your Half Cuban side, do they resemble Celia Cruz or Gloria Estefan or Cameron Diaz?

My LO is 1/2 Korean (me) and 1/2 white (husband). My husband thinks she looks pretty much white and I think she looks more Korean. She's pretty much my husband's mini-me in terms of her features (his ears, face shape, hair line, body type, hands, feet) so I think she'll look less Asian as she gets older

I think it's actually pretty even right now! When she was born it was all daddy, but she gradually started looking more like me!

@sandy: thanks! Your DD is so cute! My half siblings on my moms side are half white/half Japanese and she looks a lot like my sis to me, so I would have guessed she was mixed

@looch: I know they're different ethnicities, but white and Asian are different! Some mixed Asians look totally Asian while others look totally the other race (like Charlie's friend).
I know nonasians have a hard part telling us apart, but we are pretty good at it.

My kids are half Mexican and half euro and they look more white. Everyone here in Mexico says my blood is stronger they are pretty fair but I have a feeling that unlike me, they will tan nicely and easily (whenever I let them out without SPF 1 million!)

My LO is half white and half Chinese, up until 6 months she was a spitting image of my husband. Now she looks a bit more Chinese but still looks a lot more like my husband.

I think our LO either looks like both of us or neither of us. Her skin tone is pretty much exactly halfway between my husband and I.

Most people tell us LO does not look Asian at all.

I'm white and my husband is white/Korean. Our daughter looked verrrry Asian when she was born and now at 7 months I am not sure how obvious it is anymore but I still see Korean features (eyes especially).

My LOs won't be mixed race, but I am super curious as to what skin color they will have. My husband is brown and I'm fair.

When she was born up until 2 months she looked exactly like me. My mom pulled out pictures of me at that age and we could have been twins. She was even born with these really cool blue-grey eyes which surprised us because we thought my husband's genes would trump but mine shone through! Now she is starting to look like her Dad with his nose but my light hair. The eyes are hard to tell. Sometimes they look like his and other times they look like mine.

i think my boys look mixed! when we are hanging out with their little asian baby friends i think they look super white, and when they are hanging out with their blonde/blue eyed cousins i think they look super asian. shape shifters! haha
