I have had 6 days of positive ovulation tests and I am wondering if that's normal.

The most I have ever had was 3, and even that seemed like a lot. Normal for me is 2.

I would stop when I got one when I first started using them (silly me) but my OB later told me they were false- too early and due to my PCOS. She said (and my research later confirmed) that PCOS can cause false positive OPK's. So something like that may be it. It doesn't make sense that they would be legitimate positives.
Are they digital OPK's?

I don't have PCOS. This is just weird. I probably didn't even ovulate. Ugh.

@intotheocean: Do you have pictures of the positive opks? Maybe you are thinking the almost positive opks are actually positive, which might explain why you have 6 days worth.

I didn't take pictures of all of them, but they are all darker than the control line.

Definitely not normal. I see you say you don't have PCOS, but have you been tested? Trying an HPT is a good idea too!

I would get several days in a row, but I do have PCOS so it's "normal" for me.

Nope.
My RE told me that having anymore than 2 (and that doesn't mean 2 days, that means just 2, like morning and night) could definitely mean that your body is trying very hard to O but never actually is. The surge should be quick and aggressive. It shouldn't last days. I kept getting 4-5 days of STRONG positives, only to realize 9 months later that I haven't been ovulating at all. I was fooled by all the positive OPKS. I learned through u/s and bloodwork that I do have pcos.
eta: once I got clomid and started to O, I only got positives 2-3 times. So, AM positive, PM positive and the next morning as well. Then they would go back to negative rather quickly.

The only time I had more than 2 days of positives I had 4 and that's because I was pregnant and didn't realize it! I actually made a thread about it:

@Mamaof2: CD 23. I usually have 28 day cycles.@Mrs.Someone: I've always had normal cycles, but I just stopped nursing my son a few months ago so who knows what's happening.
When I got pregnant I only took opk until I got a positive and then stopped.

@intotheocean: It could be a wonky cycle or you could be pregnant!
I would take a preg test just to rule it out!

I was using the CBE Fertility Monitor the cycle I got my BFP with DS. I got 9 days of "high" fertility readings... 2 days of "peak" fertility and then another day of "high" fertility. I have no idea what that means, but I do have longer cycles (34-36 days) and I did get a bfp that cycle, BDing almost every day!

@Littlebit: that's giving me some hope lol I had spotting during this time for a few days. It's been crazy.

I had a positive OPK for 6 days or more in a row one cycle (I stopped testing after the 6th day). I have PCOS so it wasn't uncommon for me to have false positive OPKs.

Here's one I just took. They all look like this. And the lines got darker and darker until I got my positive. It's so sad to think I didn't even ovulate. I never had these problems before getting pregnant and breastfeeding.

@intotheocean: pregnancy and breast feeding can really mess with your hormones. Is it possible to get some blood work done to rule anything abnormal out? It's usually a pretty easy fix once they figure out which hormones are out of whack. I hope you get answers soon and I would totally get my BD on until you do.

I'd test a pregnancy test. And get some digital OPKs.

I know next to nothing about wandfos but is there anyway it's a bad batch? Maybe pick up a digital kit and use the rest next month?
cherry / 128 posts
I'm hoping it's a bad batch! But not likely since the first three days were negatives.

@intotheocean: Good that you finally got a negative! Must be relieved.
