I cannot tell if my K'Tan is a little too big. I don't feel like he is falling out, but it doesn't look snug like on the box and I don't feel like it is holding his head securely against me.
I just feel like there is a lot of extra fabric and he slips down too low in it, but I am not sure what it should feel like.
K'Tan users-do you feel like yours looks as snug as the pictures in the instructions? I have washed and dried it too.

@tlcbaby: Mine looks like that too. Try moving so he is diagonal I found in the early days, it helped support her head more. Also, have you worn it a couple times? It might just be stretched out. After I washed and dried it, it is always a much tighter fit.

@Turtledoves posted a pic a while back and her K'tan was tight. Her LO was positioned high up.

You can also try twisting the fabric on the shoulders so it will pull the extra fabric in.

Here is me in a size small with a 20lb (8m old) baby. I also have the k'tan in a size XS for my next child during his/her newborn stage.
What size is yours? I think you should get an XS and just keep that one for when baby is older and larger and has the ability to hold his or her head up.

@TurtleDoves: Mine looks like @tlcbaby: After I wear it a couple times when R was so tiny. Now that she is getting bigger is starting to get tighter like yours. The first wear after a washing is super tight

@tlcbaby: you could always get the XS from eBay or CL or even on NBD or HB classifieds for really cheap. I kept both sizes because breast size will change and baby size will change.

Another vote for too big. Mine's not as tight as Turtledove's with my LO, but it's certainly tighter than yours. When she was super-tiny, I had a hard time getting her high enough (like a few days old), but by a few weeks old, she was definitely kissable.

Yup! Way too big! I found it wasn't as supportive until she reached about 8-9lbs, but even when loose, it wasn't as loose as yours. Now she is 12lbs and we used the extra piece and it feels perfect. They do shrink & stretch before and after wash though, but I think you should size down at least one size!

@TurtleDoves: Thanks! Even in the too big one, it is a baby whisperer. He falls right asleep. We just went outside and watered the plants with him in it. But I can feel it pulling down on my shoulders because of all the fabric. I can't wait to try the other one.

well I guess I don't know what I am talking about. Mine is a lot tighter now that she is bigger and after multiple washings. I couldn't have gone to a small or I wouldn't be able to get it on at all.

Not to threadjack, but did most of you get the size you get in a regular shirt? Like if you wear a medium in tops, did the medium k'tan fit?
I tried mine on, and i got the right one according to the size chart, but it's hard to tell while I'm 7.5 months pregnant and I'm using a teddy bear!

@lawbee11: Hmm... before I was pregnant, I was between a medium and a large, and I'm planning on using it mostly when LO is teeny (meaning, I won't have lost much baby weight), so hopefully it will be OK...

@tlcbaby: @Smurfette: I could've sized down to an XS, but glad I didn't. The S seems pretty snug after wash and I have to stretch it a bit to get K in. I'm a size 4.
