Our daughter always points to a specific church when we pass it and says, "monsters!!" I've checked it out for gargoyles, but there don't seem to be any. I always wonder if she can see paranormal ghosts that only children can see. More likely, she thought she saw a monster there once and it's an association that she can't forget!

Could she have seen a similar looking church in a cartoon or TV show or something?
When my mom was little, her neighbors lived in an identical house (in one of those contractor neighborhoods where all the houses have the same layout and everything).
In their house, they had a tribal mask hanging on the door of one of the closets. So my mom was terrified of the same closet at her own house, but her parents didn't figure out why for a long time - until they visited the neighbors again! She said a "Bite You" lived in the closet.
