I can join in, I'll probably end up following this thread to see other's experience as I have been searching more info on IUI recently.

Where are you in your IUI cycle? Finished 150mg clomid and IUI will take place next week at some point, after CD13 ultrasound.
How many IUIs will this be? Very 1st IUI
Diagnosis? Hypothalamic Anovulation with multi cystic ovaries.
Medications? 150mg clomid (supposed to be CD3-7 but due to a faint positive on CD3, I took the meds CD4-7). Will take Pregnyl trigger shot after CD13 ultrasound.

Other info? DH had numbers far above what the RE likes to see. I had 3 mature follicles on Saturday, so most likely 4-5 at the time of the IUI. My uterine lining was 10.5 on Saturday. I'll be having acupuncture to allow it to thicken a little more.

We will try up to three-four rounds of IUI and will not proceed to IVF because of the cost. I have a good feeling about the IUI!!

@CatchAFallingStar: That sound like great news for the IUI!

If you go to the IF Check in for this week I wrote about our situation. We're considering IUIs at this point.

BUT, can I ask a question to everyone doing IUIs? Why are you doing the particular medications? I see Clomid, natural and Menopur. If we do try IUIs I want us to have our best shot (ie: more than one follicle) if possible, so I'm wondering which drugs to talk to my RE about. Do you all know WHY you're on a particular medication regime?

@CatchAFallingStar: So far as we know it's just a morphology issue. I have low-ish progesterone, and DH has had varied SAs, all of which his counts are ok, motility has been varied (but is in normal ranges now), but his morphology is at 1% right now and has fluctuated between 0% and 2% in the past 3 years.

I get that multiples aren't ideal, but I'd much rather have multiples rather than no BFPs. Right now the RE is suggesting natural IUIs, but I think we'd only want to try that once, maybe twice before something stronger to boost our chances.

Other info? Working through some genetic testing issues/results right now and hoping they won't affect anything.

@Mrs. Pinata: I'd love to be doing medicated vs natural but since everything is so "good" my RE is reluctant to jump to clomid. He wants to do a few cycles first. Like you, the risk of multiples is fine by me, but he doesn't agree haha

Where are you in your IUI cycle?
CD 15, I had an ultrasound on CD12 and my follicles were still too small (I'm a late ovulater). I go tomorrow, CD16, for another ultrasound to see if my follicles are getting close, but also if I'm ovulating on the left side then my RE will cancel the cycle (I had my left fallopian tube removed after an ectopic pregnancy rupture last year). So fingers crossed I ovulate on the right side!

How many IUIs will this be? Our first, hopefully!

Diagnosis? Unexplained, but suspect that whatever was wrong with my left tube to cause my ectopic pregnancy may also be affecting my right tube, but my HSG was normal.

Medications? Letrozole, Ovidrel to trigger, and Endometrin for after o.

Other info?
My last cycle was anvoulatory (55+ days) and the cycle before that was 48 days, so I'm starting to suspect that I have an ovulation problem, not just long cycles.

@Mrs. Pinata: I was on 150mg of Clomid because I did not respond to 2.5 or 5 mg of femara/letrozole. I had chosen the letrozole first because I was informed that, on average, there are less side effects with letrozole whereas clomid was PMSx10 and clomid also thins out the uterine lining. The funny thing is, I feel like I had more side effects from letrozole than clomid. While on clomid, this cycle and last cycle, they both yielded 2 mature follicles. My progesterone was 0.9 and 1.4 while on letrozole. My progesterone on clomid was 19.4!

I wrote in the IF check in thread about my IUI which took place this morning. Super quick and easy! So now I'm not allowed to POAS until 5/14.

@catchafallingstar - yep 33! It has led my RE to consider lean PCOS instead of unexplained. So we'll see! My AMH was high too like 7 something? Did anyone else have high AMH?

@lazypanda I'm doing okay, thanks for asking! My IUI was cancelled because I'm ovulating on the side where I don't have a tube, so that sucks. I still triggered on Monday, so I think I'm in day 1 of the TWW. I'm not getting my hopes up since my RE says its pretty rare for the other tube to pick up the egg.

I realize I updated on another board but not here! My HSG results showed that my right tube doesn't reach my ovary. It was a bit shocking to hear, but we've regrouped. My RE FINALLY prescribed Clomid! So we will be proceeding with the mid-May IUI *hopefully*, as long as the CD10 ultrasound shows the left side with good follicles.

@lazypanda -- got my positive opk yesterday and had the iui done this morning. I am supposed to wait for 17 days before testing -- apparently AF will have arrived by then or I'll get a strong positive HPT. Cant imagine what that must look like!!

@lazypanda: Thank you so much! We only BD'd 3 days before the IUI. We didn't after because I had some cramping and just wasn't feeling up to it. I always sleep a lot, so no change there. I didn't stop drinking coffee and had a few beers here and there. Diet wasn't too much different. I incorporated healthy smoothies, but also had some treats like Taco Bell (HA). The only thing I know for sure that I did different this cycle than any other was listen to the Circle + Bloom IUI/IVF program, which really helped me to visualize and relax (wall me if you want it). I also just stayed really positive and started prepping by subscribing to a pregnancy magazine and painting furniture for the nursery. I'm sure that's just coincidental, but it also just made me feel happy and productive.

So, we're hoping for a Thurs or Fri IUI this month. I've been feeling pretty rotten on Clomid. Has anyone else had this? I'm cranky, tired, and dizzy. I also feel fat, but that could be because I have been eating too much. ha!

I start OPKs Wed morning since I did Clomid CDs 4-8 and you have to wait 3 days before you can take OPKs without risking a false positive. I pretty much always O on my own CD 12 or 13, So, hopefully I still O in the same time frame wit Clomid, otherwise the clinic is closed on the weekends and we're out of luck. I would be so bummed to be on Clomid and not get to try IUI! Since we have MFI, even with Clomid we have about 0% chance trying naturally.

Not great chance with IUIs either, but we kind of just want to try them to be sure, since it's not too expensive and DH's last count was high (but morphology was still abysmal). I literally can't imagine ever getting a BFP, but I'm glad we're getting to try.

@MrsMcD: Yes ma'am! The wash and spin basically gets rid of all the sleepers/problem swimmers and the rest get collected for insemination. Then since the go past your cervix, they have less fighting/swimming to do to the egg!

@bluestriped bee: The waiting sucks. But IUI coming up soon is great!

I have an appointment tomorrow with my obgyn to discuss my failure to get pregnant over the past 12 cycles. Hopefully she will have some insight into DH's SA results.

@EmilyE: Congratulations!!! Can you quickly tell me your IF history? Did you do an IUI or something?
