I've been taking a bit of a break from here- it's just painful. We realized I did much better when I had been on prednisone for my NK cells. We presented this to My RE, who thinks I have lymphocytic oophoritis, where my autoimmune issues are striking again, this time My ovaries. The only way to diagnose for sure is to remove an ovary- no way! His options are to go long distance (problematic since we are trying to bank for a surrogate) or 3 months of prednisone, then mini ivf. I have lost some trust, and have a second opinion next Friday. The RE is local, though does retrieval and transfer about 45-60 minutes away. He supposedly deals with "all the tough cases no one else can figure out." If we like him, we will probably cycle in June after I've been on the prednisone. I read that preovulation, intrafollicular levels of steroid increase, probably helping eggs to mature. I've also read that steroids can make follicles more responsive. This fits well with my Problems. I responded very well to femara while on the prednisone in luteal phase. I need high doses of meds, then have 11-12 follicles and then way fewer eggs and mature eggs than expected 8/6 first cycle, 5/3 second. I'm really hoping this works, because if not, there's not a lot Left to do. I keep thinking that only two months prior, we got twice as many mature eggs and had two good day 3 embryos. I'm looking for any knowledge on this rare issue, or any reassurance that it should go better. I am so dreading another cycle and afraid this will happen again. If it does, we are Probably looking at adoption. If it goes well, we have a potential surrogate. This is the one thing that has gone smoothly- I mentioned to a fellow IF friend that we were going to need a surrogate and she has a friend who sounds great. We spoke on the phone and are going to have dinner next week. No guarantees but looking good. Now we just need some embryos.
In other news, we are getting more setter at the new place and planted 420 fruit trees this weekend. I have a contract meeting with my boss and the CEO today, so I'm stressed about that. Please send prayers all the way around.

@PurplePumps: Thinking of you today and can't wait to hear an update.
@AmeliaBedilia: I just wanted to send you a big hug! This is all incredibly difficult. I am so hoping for the best for you and your DH, whatever path you head down.
@endymion4: Thank you!! Keeping fingers crossed.

@AmeliaBedilia: Holy cow, that sounds like a LOT of trees! I hope you can gain more insight at your consult next Friday. All this unknown and waiting and more waiting just sucks. *hugs*
@GreenThumb: Thanks! It went well today aside from nearly wetting myself as usual. It was a little weird having my husband there watching some other guy down in my business and just chatting as we waited for the embrologist. (My old RE was female so it didnt seem as weird). Two blast transferred as planned, beta scheduled for next Wed. Seems a little early? That'd be the equivalent of 12dpo, right? But he said it should show positive by then if it's positive.
And here they are... the top was one was slow and still expanding when they took the picture, but they said it caught up later and looked like the lower one.

@PurplePumps: Yay! I am so happy to hear this! Glad everything went well and you have two little embies snuggling in now. My old RE would do the beta 9 dpt and my new one is something like 12! So count yourself lucky to only have to wait a week. Are you just going to a lab locally for the blood draw? You don't have to go all the way back down to the RE, right?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@GreenThumb: I thought it would be 9dpt too, originally he said next Thursday. But then he wanted a beta 2 days later if it was positive, so he moved it up so that wouldn't land on Saturday. I've just been getting my bloods at a local Quest which has been soooo convenient.

I'm in my 2ww!!! I transferred two Blasts and my beta is scheduled for 3/31/16. Trying to remain positive and hopeful! Praying daily for my BFP. Also being realistic to all outcomes!!! Wishing everyone and the best!!!

@Des10d2succeed: Good luck!! Are you going to test before your beta?
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: It's perfectly understandable to want to take a break and it sounds like you've been busy! Over 400 trees?! Are you planning on having an orchard? Either way, sounds amazing! Sending you strength and good wishes over the next few weeks as you meet with the other RE in your town. I am so hopeful for you.
@PurplePumps: YAY! You are PUPO! Those blasty's look amazing! The beta might be early, but I would imagine would still show some HCG. Just keep in mind that your first numbers might be fairly low since it is so early (i.e., don't freak out if they are low). Rest up and take it easy!
@Des10d2succeed: Welcome and they look great! Good luck during your wait!
AFM - Just hanging out and waiting to test (which I'll do tomorrow morning). I don't really have any symtoms and it's freaking me out a bit. Well, I have been tired, but am chalking that up to the progesterone. I haven't had too many twinges since late last week, but that could be normal too. My beta will not be until Monday since they don't do them on the weekend.

@PurplePumps: Probably not I did on my first IVF and it was so disappointing with I got a bfn. So I'm going to wait until next Thursday.

@PurplePumps: Great looking embryos!! Good luck, lady! You are PUPO!!
@NorthStar: I'm wishing you all the best! I never had any symptoms of any kind so try not to worry about looking for any.

Big fat this morning. I'm beyond crushed..
I need ideas of what to ask once I have my official call from the doctor on Monday. BTW, I hate doing betas when I know the result will be negative. Anyway, what can I do to have more success for a FET? The one thing that I thought of is that I haven't had a saline sonogram done to ensure that there are not any polyps or something in the lining preventing implantation. I am going to start a list so that I can ask the doctor when she calls on Monday..
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: Oh, no! What dpt are you? I did not get a positive at home until the day before my beta with my daughter, so maybe don't count yourself out yet? Sending you big hugs!!

I am 8DP5DT. my normal beta would be at 9daypast (tomorrow); however, they don't do betas on the weekend for some reason. So, it's pushed to Monday. I find it hard to believe that I wouldn't have at least a squinter at this point, right? I'm the equivalent of 13DPO..
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: That's when I had the squintiest of squinters on a FRER. What test did you use? I also found that with the new FRERs I tested darker later in the day, so maybe try again later today?
pear / 1881 posts
Yeah, i used the new FRER. You are giving me hope, lady! I wasn't planning on testing again, but maybe in a few days.@GreenThumb:

@NorthStar: my fingers are crossed that you've just tested too early!! hoping a positive comes in the next couple days!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: I'm praying you tested too early. If you have to go to a follow up with your doctor, ask about having an endometrial biopsy done after a trial run on the meds you will use for the true FET (I don't know exactly what that procedure is called.)
cherry / 107 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I totally get taking a break. I do it myself, which is why you don't hear from me much between cycles.
@Des10d2succeed: Good luck little embies!
@NorthStar: Here's hoping it's just too early!
I had my baseline today and I get to start stims tonight!!! I was sooooo nervous the results would be bad that I refused to confirm my next appointment before I got my results. So relieved. Starting at 375IU Follistim. Ugh. *starts throwing wads of money down the drain* My first bloods are on Monday, which is also my 34th birthday. I was 31 when we started this. Depressing. Here’s hoping I at least get a good present- some E2 levels that show that my follicles are actually growing this time!
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: FX for you for sure!
@Aqualov: Great news! Hope that Monday brings a lot of follies for you!
@Des10d2succeed: Welcome! Wishing you all the best for this cycle!!
@endymion4: How are things going for you? What did you end up deciding to do about the biopsy/moving forward with another cycle?
apricot / 365 posts
catching up a little!
@PurplePumps: happy tww! wednesday will be here before you know it!
@Des10d2succeed: welcome and happy tww to you, too! hoping for lots of good news in the group next week!
@GreenThumb: we're skipping the re-do on the biopsy (and getting our money back :p)
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@NorthStar: FX for you that it was still early! I've read that some people don't even get positives until 15 or 16 dpo!
persimmon / 1132 posts
@NorthStar: Oh, lady... FX so tight that you just tested early.
@Aqualov: So great to hear that things are starting off in a strong place this time. Last time seemed like a total fluke. Go, E2, go!!!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@NorthStar: Thinking of you today. Still all FX'ed for good news.
pear / 1881 posts
@PurplePumps: thank you, Hun. Waiting now to give blood and didn't test again. I'm going under the assumption it will be negative. Just not sure how I will maintain my composure when my doctor calls. I'll be at a client with one coworker. Will be difficult to get away quickly.
How are you feeling?! When is your beta?
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: Also checking in on you this morning and hoping for good news this afternoon . You might pre-empt the call and your quick escape by letting them know you are expecting a call that you are going to have to take. Or (and I'm not sure I could do this) let the voicemail pick up and call them back when you can be by yourself? Or have them call DH instead?
@PurplePumps: Hope all is well with you!! Are you testing at home?
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: Thank you I situated myself by a door that goes to a common hallway (that is not the clients). the bathroom isn't too far from there, so as long as i'm at my computer, I should be ok. I really want to pick up so that I can talk to the doctor about my questions. I'm just nervous that if I don't, who knows when we will be able to connect and I want to get going as soon as possible into a FET. I hope that this is all for naught and that I really am preggo. Man, i would be shocked.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@NorthStar: @GreenThumb: I'm terrified. My beta is Wed and I wish it'd come real slow. The longer I don't know, the longer I can believe there's hope. I might poas Wed morning so I'd be prepared for bad news.
pear / 1881 posts
@PurplePumps: i know the feeling How are you feeling in general? Any symptoms?
It's good to have hope and maintain that! I feel like that is what I lost after my test on Friday. How many days past transfer are you currently?
pear / 1881 posts
@PurplePumps: ok, well super early, then. Also, I've had several friends that were pregnant, but had zero symptoms, so don't let that you give up some hope! Thinking of you over these next few days.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@NorthStar: Thanks! My husband is going out of town tomorrow so I probably won't even be able to reach him right away whatever the results! ugh.
cherry / 107 posts
@NorthStar: @PurplePumps: Thinking good thoughts for you ladies.
Well, crappy E2 levels for me today. They either went down/stayed about the same after 3 days of stims at 375 IU. From 12 at baseline to <12 today. Bonus, I’ve woken up with a migraine from the Lupron every day since I started it 10 days ago, including today. It’s been so bad the past few days DH has had to drive me to my appointments today and Friday, and to Easter dinner yesterday, which I spent most of on the couch with an icepack since I can’t take any meds for the migraines except tylenol, which obviously does nothing for a migraine. Happy 50th, oops, I mean 34th to me!
pear / 1986 posts
@Aqualov: Happy Birthday! Ugh! I'm sorry to hear about your E2 levels. What did the RE think about that? And the side effects of the Lupron - Lupron affects me worse than any other IF med. Are you almost done with that or do you stay on it the whole time? Next check on Wed? Really hoping for a good jump for you!!
@PurplePumps: I know what you mean about slowing time down during the TWW. I always sort of want it both ways... fast so I can find out, but slow so I can keep the hope alive. I've gotten into the (bad) habit of testing early the last few transfers (so sad I have to say that) and the chemical pregnancies have really twisted me up, so this time I am really going to try not to test before the beta. Wishing you so much luck for Wednesday!!
@NorthStar: Sending big hugs no matter what the result!!
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: thanks! Still waiting for the results and it is driving me nuts! I did my blood draw at a local clinic and they are supposed to send the results to my RE, who will then call me. I just remembered that my local clinic has a portal and I could check the results, except they are not posted yet! So, they are either not back yet (which is crazy) or they just haven't been posted. I emailed a nurse there to see if they have the results back yet, but haven't heard anything. I just want to be sure my RE gets them. My guess is that I won't hear today....whomp whomp
@PurplePumps: oh no! I'm so sorry that your husband will not be there no matter the result. I am hopeful that you can call him with good news
@Aqualov: Happy Birthday! I'm so sorry to hear that your E2 levels are no cooperating Also, that you have migraines. ugh. are you working and having to take off more time than expected? I hope that your next appointment goes much better.
