I'm about to BURST!!! I STILL haven't told DH yet!! He didn't bring it up at all yesterday and I didn't really get a chance to talk to him. Then he was busy at the airport, then his flight gets delayed and then cancelled, so he was scrambling to find another flight home, and by the time he did and got to the hotel I'd gone to bed and he was up and on a flight this morning before I got to talk to him again! His lay over was only 30 minutes so didn't get a hold of him and he'll be home soon, but I'm still stuck at work all day! *phew* Sorry for the massive word dump!

AFM, it's been a rough week. My job contract did not get renewed (totally unexpected) so I'm job hunting on top of everything. Worst March ever! I have a second opinion appointment tomorrow and am absolutely terrified he will give me a "no hope/donor eggs" talk.
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: oh hun, i'm so sorry! Will it affect the national group that you were just recruited to? I can't remember the exact name of it, but it was something new you joined. Yes, what a sucky March for us
Please update us on how it goes tomorrow and good luck

@PurplePumps: Can't wait to hear how your DH reacts! So exciting!!
@AmeliaBedilia: Hugs! Definitely a really tough month. That means things have to get better in April! Wishing you much luck and renewed hope with your meeting tomorrow. Excited to hear how it goes. :good luck:
@Aqualov: I'm really sorry to hear that E2 still is holding out low. What is the plan from your RE?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@NorthStar: LOL, nope, we're so boring.
@AmeliaBedilia: Holy cow, I'm so sorry you're dealing with job hunting now on top of all this crap. I hope you get some answers tomorrow!
@YogiRunner: Thank you!
So of course I come home to a pile of dog poop in the kitchen today... DH left work like 20 minutes after, and I was on the phone with CVS Caremark when he got home and I'm like...welcome home, can you wipe up that dog sh!t? lol. By the time I finally got off the phone he was asked me why I was talking to them again and I gave him a huge word vomit about medications and authorizations and medications hes like why do you need more? So I just said for this little bean. And he says I had a feeling you were gonna say that. And then he asked about the blood test tomorrow and how many more hurdles we have to get by and that he doesn't want to get too excited until it's "safe" to... which I totally get. I'm still terrified of tomorrow results. The doctor kind listed out a few "next steps" so I think DH was tuned in on that and that it's not as easy as just a positive beta and all was good.
And then on the medication insurance front. Bad news: I screwed up big time and I my Crinone would have been covered! Ugh, $720 dollar paid for the boxes I have now that I didn't actually need to pay for. Good news: It saves me 1k for the boxes I'd need to buy to last me through 12 weeks.

@PurplePumps: Sorry about the dog crap, but yay for the cautiously optimistic next steps! So cute your DH had a feeling. Mine reacted is much the same measured sort of way (except for then telling all of his coworkers).
I was on Crinone, too. Are you doing 2x day? I didn't understand if your insurance will cover your future orders but you can get it for $5/applicator at IVFpharmacy.
You reminded me that I actually have some Crinone, Prometrium and Vivelle patches to give away! Apart from just taking them to my clinic, is it weird to put them on the classifieds? How does that all work? Any recommendations? Any takers?
pear / 1881 posts
@Amorini: You could see if there are any girls here that will need/want them? Just an idea..or yeah, classifieds. Otherwise, I belong to an app of infertility girls and do you want me to check to see if there is anyone in your town on there? (makes it easier so you don't have to ship).
@PurplePumps: oh, my gosh, that is so great that he had a feeling and almost kind of already "knew". Let us know when you get today's results..could you call your insurance company and ask for them to apply that to your deductible and get a refund (if possible) or was it for purchases in 2015?
AFM - finally heard from the nurse at my RE after 3 voicemails. Anyhoo, the transfer is scheduled for May 31st. I will start birth control today, lupron on May 1st and estrogen tablets on May 10th. It's not as soon as I would like it, but within a few weeks of what I expected. I will also have my saline sonogram and endometrial scratch on April 14th. I had assumed that I would be doing PIO injections because a prior nurse said that for most FETs, they do them; however, my doctor prescribed me endometrum, which I am totally fine with.
So, for anyone still reading that have had successful FETs, any tips for the next 8 weeks? I would like to lose some weight, but are there certain supplements or things that I should be eating to best prepare myself for a successful transfer?
persimmon / 1132 posts
@NorthStar: Oh my goodness, I wouldn't sell them and do hope to gift them. I meant 'free classifieds' (doesn't HB have that?) if that was confusing. I will make a list of what I have and post it here later!
As for your question about FET, hmmmm. Here's what I did:
1. Super healthy, low inflammatory diet (low or no dairy, gluten, refined sugar, caffiene)
2. Exercise and get moving to get rid of the fresh cycle hormone buildup
3. Acupuncture 2x a week. It added a lot to my already busy schedule and it was expensive, but it calmed me and also helped me get rid of hormone buildup.
4. C&B meditation, positive affirmations and as much faith and optimism as you can muster!
5. Talk to your embies, send them love and tell them you are soooo ready for them to come into the world!
May will come soon!

@Amorini: haha! no problem. I edited what I posted after the fact because I realized that you meant give away! oops! So look at it again. i had other ideas of what to do with it..
And thank you for all your great ideas!
persimmon / 1132 posts
@NorthStar: Haha! Gotcha. Okay, let me see itemize what I have first for the HB girls and then see. I'll post soon!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@Amorini: I think it's technically illegal to sell or give away meds, so many boards take down those posts pretty quickly. That's so sweet of you to give away! I do hope it goes to someone that needs it.
@NorthStar: I had to end up buying it from Winfertility so I doubt my insurance would ever give me money back for it haha. I honestly don't even have the desire to try to fight that losing battle. I'm just thankful I found out it's covered before ordering more.
.... just (impatiently) waiting for my second beta results right now. I'm logging into Quest like every 5 minutes hahaha
cherry / 107 posts
@PurplePumps: haha, I totally do that on my RE's portal while waiting for my E2 results:)
@AmeliaBedilia: Sorry about the contract. It's only been a few cycles, hopefully the doc doesn't think you're there yet.
AFM, I had my day 8 bloods today. E2 finally went up tp 34, which is 1.5 times what is was last draw. Last cycle, where I stimmed 16 days before cancelling my E2 was 54 on day 8, but then again, it was rising super slow each day before, not staying the same and then 1.5ing (it's a real word, okay?). Hopefully this means that I just now begun responding to the stims and I actually have a few follicles just starting out. I'm less pessimistic about this cycle now, but nowhere near optimistic yet. Next blood draw, with an ultrasound too (finally!) is Sunday.

@NorthStar: Hi! I'm still following along. I'm so excited you have a FET scheduled now. Its such a bummer to not have the fresh cycle work out. I was adamant about having a fresh cycle even over my RE's suggestions. But even with what I assume were lesser quality embryos, the FET was what did the trick for me! I'm hoping the best for you. So in the weeks before to prepare, all I did was try to eat good and exercise. I tried to do an anti-inflammatory diet (just googled what to eat for that) and I also did some juice cleanses. I think I cut out wine, but I really can't recall. That's it! But just realize that having your body reset on its own is a great step that should make a good difference with your FET as opposed to your fresh cycle.
pear / 1881 posts
@agold: thank you! I met with my acupuncturist this morning and she is doing a cleanse starting May 1 with a bunch of people, so she said that it would be a good idea to do that. But, instead of going 12 days like everyone else, she wants me to only do 7 and keep certain foods in my diet (like nuts). Exercise is the hardest for me, but i'll do my best! I hope that you are doing well
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: That all sounds like a great plan! Even on the cleanses I do, the place says its okay to eat raw almonds and avocado. As for exercise, maybe you can at least try walking 30 minutes or a couple of miles each day. And yes, I'm doing okay! Feeling great, random things that have just caused me immense worry that I can't shake, but I can't complain! 20 weeks tomorrow! I'm hoping for all the best for you!!!

@AmeliaBedilia: How did your appointment go today?
I finally got the email from my doctor. I was starting to freak out cause I'd missed a call at 2pm and then at 4pm, and i'm like craaaaaaaap, on Wed he just emailed me. It can't be good news if he keeps trying to reach me on the phone! I guess he gave up after the 4pm call cause I finally got an email... 227 today! U/S for April 18ish. I still can't believe this could really be happening.
pear / 1881 posts
@PurplePumps: yay!! That is wonderful!! you are 10 days past transfer now, right? Sorry, way too many people to keep track of
nectarine / 2192 posts
@PurplePumps: yay, yay, yay!!!!!! My appointment went well. He's smart and was super impressed that I had figured out our issues. He thinks the autoimmune issues are contributing to my egg issues, but not sure how much steroids will help. He said my low maturity rate was in part that I didn't stim long enough. He wants to do a lupron flare protocol, stim longer, with three weeks testosterone prior. He also would freeze at day 3 since many DOR embryos do better in utero.

@AmeliaBedilia: Great to hear the appointment went well and that he has a good plan! Have you decided if you'll move forward with him?
pear / 1986 posts
@PurplePumps: Yay!! Great news on your second beta!!! So happy for you
@AmeliaBedilia: Sounds like your meeting with the RE was great! I'm sure you have a lot to consider about moving forward, but it is nice to have a new plan to consider!
@Aqualov: I'm glad things are getting moving for you! Wishing you so much good news for the U/S on Sunday! Grow follies, grow!!

@PurplePumps: OMG congratulations!!!!! We just got back from lunch and my husband said "I don't know if you've been on Hellobee lately, but PurplePumps is pregnant." I legitimately teared up - I don't even know you, so that's weird I know :), but you've been through so much and I'm so happy to hear this news. Yay!

@momazon: Thank you so much! Your husband on hellobee too?? That is so cute!! How have you been?

So I am still about 10 days out from my FET, but I feel like I am having AF cramps and rumblings like I do right before starting my period. Normal? I'm still on 10mL of Lupron daily and estrogen patches. I thought it was the PIO that normally caused cramping... and I haven't started that yet.
You would think I've never done this before (she says having been through 4 FETs already) .
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@GreenThumb: I don't remember any cramps on Lupron... but our bodies are so pumped up from all this stuff that I doubt it even knows what normal is anymore. lol.
pear / 1986 posts
@PurplePumps: Thanks! It was a couple of days, but feeling ok today. I have my lining check on Thursday, so I'll know more then. Hope all is well with you!!!!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
Does anyone that uses vaginal suppositories (I'm using Crinone) feel like.... uhh.. they push it all out if they go poop shortly after putting it in? Usually, I don't have to go until 4-5 hours later, and I think it's mostly absorbed by then, but it's only been 2.5 hrs today and when I went to wipe, seems like it all came back out! Do you ever put another dose in when that happens? Or am I being crazy and it's ok?
persimmon / 1132 posts
@GreenThumb: I'm glad to hear your cramps are going away. I felt weird and awful things on Lupron, but I don't at all remember AF-like cramps. I don't think there is any way you can ovulate on 1 cc of Lupron so try to not worry. I agree with @PurplePumps: that your body is not quite your typical body right now with all of the hormones. GL on your lining check -- hope it's getting nice and fluffy!
@PurplePumps: Definitely the P2 does can stimulate your bowels and make you go ... I found that was true in my first few weeks of this pregnancy. Does the discharge look like "fresh" Crinone (smooth and creamy gel)? Or is the chunky cottage-cheese stuff (the built-up old stuff)? Then there is the clear-ish, watery discharge that is, well for me, the daily pregnancy discharge. (TMI, but you know...) Anyway, I think I remember reading that the body absorbs the Crinone pretty quickly after it's inserted so you don't need to worry about pushing out stuff your body needs. I always had a little that leaked right after I inserted it and I, too, was worried that I was losing some precious P2. I would definitely contact the RE if you are worried about it, but from the sound of it, you are probably okay and don't need another dose.

@PurplePumps: @GreenThumb: Thanks:)
Well, my estrogen almost doubled from last draw, but not quite- 34 –> 53. I’m officially not suppressed anymore (estrogen over 50), it only took until day 10 I’m jealous of ladies that jump over 100 on their first draw lol! I had two follicles growing, one 6mm and one 8.5mm. Since they’re on different ovaries hopefully they grow together and the 8.5 doesn’t surge ahead like last time, and I can actually make it to a retrieval this cycle. Hoping even more that a few more follicles spring up so I can have more than 2 follicles for retrieval.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@Amorini: lol on the TMI. Never in a million years did I think I'd be talking about vaginal discharge with people! DH asked me after the transfer, so how's it feel to be on a table all spread out with a "interrogation light" (that's what the nurse called it) shining in your business. I'm like, eh, just another day at the doctors...I've come a long way from my first pap where I could barely spread my legs.
But back to the gel.... it was like half and half. Some of it looked like fresh gel that wasn't the 'leftovers' yet. But a some of it might have been CM too.
@Aqualov: Slow and steady for the win! Hoping for a few more late bloomers in there for you!
persimmon / 1132 posts
@PurplePumps: I know, I feel pretty shameless, too. My last two appointments have been "through the belly" (ultrasound and doppler) and I was like, what?! no transvaginal?!
@Aqualov: Yay! Grow, follies, grow!
cherry / 107 posts
@PurplePumps: @Amorini: Thanks:)
AFM, my estrogen went up 2.6x, from 53 to 137! No idea if I have more follicles though, since the good US tech wasn't there today. I got the crappy one, and she couldn't find my right ovary. At. All. (Seriously lady- you had one job!) The follicle on my left went from 8.5 to 9.5, so I'm thinking something is going on with my ninja-like right ovary to get that much of a rise? I have another US/blood Thursday where hopefully my ninja-ovary will decide to make an appearance.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Aqualov: YES! What an increase! I have one ovary that likes to hide... so frustrating!
