@Winnie13: Mine were sore too around ER. It has since subsided but I remember being really sore. How excited are you for Friday????
I have my beta scheduled for Sunday and am trying to hold off on testing at home. I'm so nervous. I'm praying this little emby sticks!

@PurplePumps: Its so easy to get discouraged. But we're all thinking good positive thoughts for you, even when you're feeling down. That said, I wouldn't give up hope yet! When do you think retrieval will be?

Ugh sorry for multiple posts, on my phone!
@Mrs. Pajamas: I'm so glad you're feeling calmer. Having a girls night is the BEST medicine! And wine.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for great fertilisation and betas in the coming days.... come on, we need some more BFPs!

Feeling a little better about this cycle. The place I had been going for u/s wasn't very details, but I went to a new place today and wow, they blew me away. She was so careful with measuring every single one and saving not just images, but more like a video. And then it rendered a 3d image. I feel like I was in the stone ages with all my past ultrasounds after seeing this one! Looks like even though it didn't look like a lot of matched follicles, it's back on track like previous cycles. Will be triggering Saturday probably for a Monday retrieval.
And just cause I think it's awesome..... here's what the scan today looked like!

@PurplePumps: Wow! That is amazing!!! I've never seen anything like that. I'm so glad that things are looking much better

@PurplePumps: Wow! This is really neat! I've never seen these types of scans. I'm glad you're feeling better about this cycle!
AFM, I caved and tested. Today is 6dp5dt and I tested and saw a faint line. Now, because I didn't test out the trigger, I don't know if it's that or it actually something. I'm going to test again tomorrow and will keep you posted. I probably shouldn't get my hopes up, but I loved seeing that second line on the test. I've never had one before.
pear / 1881 posts
@LoveHope: YAY! I had a faint positive on 6dp5dt. granted i did a frozen transfer, so i didn't have any HCG to worry about. Do you remember how many IU's you took of HCG?
pear / 1881 posts
@LoveHope: ok - So, what I've read is that it's one day for every 1,000 units, so 10 days for you. Since you are on day 11 today, that is good news. If it is still positive tomorrow (and hopefully stronger), I would say that it's from a little bean and not the HCG! Keep us updated!
kiwi / 689 posts
@NorthStar: Yes! I certainly will. Thanks for that info. I had no idea. We certainly learn so much from each other!
How are you feeling?
pear / 1881 posts
@LoveHope: You are welcome! I feel completely normal and it's freaking me out (no morning sickness or anything)! I haven't had any appointments since my ultrasound on 6/30, so fears are starting to creep in. I have one next Friday and hopefully, they can hear the heartbeat. Otherwise, no more ultrasounds until around 20 weeks!
pear / 1881 posts
@LoveHope: Oh and aren't you actually more than 11 days? I forgot to count when you actually do the trigger, which is 36 hours prior to retrieval. So, I'm guessing that is a positive!!!

@lovehope Thanks for the warm welcome. I’m already discovering that I need to brush up on my acronyms. Is there a cheat sheet somewhere? And I’m thinking of you and your faint line. I have to ask though – one of my fears in this process is getting my hopes up, but then I swing the other way and think that optimism probably helps, not hurts, right?
@purplepumps That is a very cool US. I’m actually a doc, (ED not RI or OB), but I’ve never seen anything like that for ovaries. The place you are must be ahead of the curve!
My RE called today with the results of my fertilization from yesterday. Of the 19 follicles taken, 16 were mature enough, and of those 16, 12 fertilized properly and look viable. I don’t really have a frame of reference for how to interpret those numbers. This is my first cycle. Do the numbers take any trend in cycles 2+?
I’m reading the recent posts realizing I probably missed an opportunity to take a test right after my trigger. Is there any utility in taking one now? I’m waiting to hear if I’ll have a D3 vs D5 LET on Saturday vs Monday. Sorry for all the newbie questions!

@NorthStar: yes, I did the trigger on 7/1....
I'm definitely going to test tomorrow morning. Hoping this little embie sticks
@Yellowbeach: Yes, try http://www.shinefertility.org/wdtm-what-mean/
Most of them should be on there,
There were so many cycles in which I thought I had every symptom in the book and ended up with a BFN. I've never actually in 2+ years have ever seen a faint positive. I think having a positive mindset is healthy and that's what I've been trying to do.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@PurplePumps: So cool! It's so nice to see what's happening in there in a way that we regular people can understand! Glad you are feeling upbeat about the cycle.
@LoveHope: Yay, so very promising! Keeping my fingers crossed and thinking sticky thoughts for your embie!
@NorthStar: Fears creeping in are the worst. I know the feeling -- even at closing in on 29 weeks!
@yellowbeach: Welcome! Sorry you have to be here but it's a great group. Somewhere I found some data on what kind of dropoff in numbers can be expected based on age and other factors, including your reasons for having to do IVF to begin with. Everyone's so different but there are some trends based on FSH, AFC, AMH and age, if I remember right. I had 22 retrieved, 14 mature, 10 fertilized and 2 made it to a 5-day freeze (we did a freeze-all). We were dealing with my age and his MFI. Both were transferred and one grew into this kickboxer in my belly. I think staying positive and yet reassessing the facts at each step is/was my personal way to handle fear and anxiety around both IVF and pregnancy. Wishing you so much luck!
ETA: Oh and I just remembered that the number of fertilized embies and the number that grow to 5 days (and those that then result in pregnancies) are on some kind of curve based largely on egg quality factors. I was gutted when my 10 turned to 2. I was expected more like 4 or 5 based on the stats, but then I remember reading that only 40% of my 5 day embies were statistically going to result in pregnancy (so, like less than 1 for me) and the little embie that could ended up sticking! So the numbers only tell so much!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@LoveHope: I think all the HCG is out of the system by like 10 days post trigger. My RE did my beta 7dp5dt so I'm betting you got a true positive!!
@yellowbeach: That sounds like a great fert report to me. I'm not really sure that there's a specific pattern for each person. I've "talked" to a lot of people and cycle to cycle, the results seem all over the place, especially since I think usually they try something a little different each time to try to improve something. Even then, I've seen some people say they did exactly the same thing and got quite different results.
Doctor moved my trigger date up to tonight after he got the blood work and full u/s report. So we'll be driving down to NYC tomorrow for retrieval Sunday. That makes life so much easier with parking and not having to miss work... so at least there's a little something going our way haha.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@PurplePumps: that's great news! Good luck with retrieval and hopefully you can have a nice dinner or something in NYC. If you want any recommendations let me know
@LoveHope: eek very exciting! It does sound like it might be a real BFP. Will you test again to see if it got darker?
@yellowbeach: great fert report! Keep us posted!
kiwi / 689 posts
I tested again this morning at like 5:30am (I know a bit crazy). I still got a faint positive.
kiwi / 689 posts
@SweetiePie: I'll certainly keep testing just because now it's freaking me out
honeydew / 7463 posts
@LoveHope: Don't let it freak you out! 1) it's a good looking line and 2) it's been so long since I poas but if I remember correctly, hcg doubling time is 48-72 hours so you may not see a big difference in the line until tomorrow. I think you tested yesterday right? It's been 24 hours, if even that! So Id wait till tomorrow to test again but even then don't let things freak you out. So many factors can impact the darkness of a line and they say all the time not to worry about it.
I only asked earlier because if it gets darker then you know it's not the trigger (though based on timeline it's doubtful that it is anyway ).

@PurplePumps: That u/s picture is so awesome! So happy you are triggering tonight! Wishing you all the best for ER on Sunday!!
@LoveHope: Woohoo!!! That is amazing! I'm so excited for you! Praying that sweet embaby is a sticky one!!!
@yellowbeach: That is a great report! Wishing you all the best next week!!
AFM, I had my ER this morning. We got 21 eggs! Woo! Thank you Lord! I was very pleased with that number!! I will get my fert report on Mon. and I'll know a little more about my transfer day. As of now, we are proceeding like a ET is on Wed. So, we will see! I'm feeling ok... Just crampy. Resting, watching TV, and living with my heating pad!!

@Winnie13: That's such a great number!!!! Keep us posted on the fertilization report and get plenty of rest.

So much good news here--what a great way to start the weekend!
@Winnie13 and @yellowbeach great news on your retrievals...will be thinking good thoughts for continued fert reports
@LoveHope so exciting...will be rooting for you and the line getting darker!
@PurplePumps good luck with retrieval. It seems like everything moved so quickly for you--that's great news. I feel like everything moves at a glacial pace when you are in the thick of IVF stuff.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@Winnie13: Oh my goodness, hope the weekend flies by so you can get your fert report. I'm so impatient I think I'd go crazy!
@Mrs. Pajamas: Yea, it really did seem to fly this time. I can't believe I'm already adding another notch to my IVF belt.... And we're banking this time, so we may be right here again in just another 4 weeks if my doc gives me the go for back to back cycles.

@Winnie13: woohoo, 21! That's amazing! Hope the weekend flies by for you. Can't wait to hear your fert report!

I tested this morning and the line is much darker. I did have some brown spotting and I'm freaking out! Is this something normal? I've been fighting this cold and last night while lying in bed I coughed and I had this weird lower abdominal pain.
nectarine / 2648 posts
@lovehope - loving that dark line! Not sure what to make of the spotting and lower abdominal pain - maybe others can comment.
So my RE just called with my fert report. Of our 12 that made it through fert, 8 look excellent, and the other 4 are still growing just more slowly. So, he wants to wait and do a D5 transfer on Monday. He's also now recommending transfer of 1-2 embies instead of 3. Should I interpret that as positive, that they look good and he's worries about multiples? Overall it seems things are going well
Ugh more waiting... need some tips for staying distracted until Monday!
kiwi / 689 posts
@yellowbeach: That's great news! From what I understand the number of embies you transfer doesn't give you the highest percentage of pregnancy, just multiples. We were told to transfer 1. It was highly recommended.
kiwi / 501 posts
@LoveHope: That's a great line!! Has the spotting stopped? I don't know much about that either! Praying for you friend!!
@yellowbeach: Wow, that's great news!! Super excited for you!!
@PurplePumps: Tell me about it!! The good news is I'm still not feeling my best. Super bloated and gassy, so another day of rest for me! Tomorrow is booked solid, so Monday will be here in a flash!! Hoping to hear great things from you soon!
Thank you all for the well wishes! I'm looking forward to Mon.!!
kiwi / 689 posts
@Winnie13: It's not so much like it was this morning but it's still there. I read that as long as it's not red, it could be normal.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@LoveHope: Wow, that looks great! Hope the spotting is no big deal! Lots of ladies have experienced that without it meaning the worst -- hopefully they will chime in!
@yellowbeach: Glad that your fertilization report came back so strong. I'm curious why the RE recommended to transfer three? That seems outside the norm these days except in unique situations. My clinic only recommended transfers of 2 embies if the patient is 38+ y.o. and only did transfers of 3 embies if the patient is 38+ AND the embie quality isn't super great. Anyway, good luck with staying distracted -- I think around this time was when I started binge-watching The Bachelor!!
@Winnie13: I'll be thinking of you on Monday!

My beta today was 383!!!! I'm pregnant! I can't even begin to describe what I'm feeling right now. Obviously, we have to wait and see what happens on Tuesday when I do round 2 of bloodwork but to hear the words, "you're pregnant" brought tears to my eyes! I'm hoping this bean sticks
