Hi everyone! I'll be back to make my post when I get the kid down to nap.

    Ok here goes!
    Cycle Day: 5

TTC Cycle: technically 2, but we have basically been ntnp for a year (infrequent as it may be!)

Ovulation Date: I dont do charting just track my period, but according to Ovia my fertile window is jan7-12!

    POAS Date: Jan 24

    Baby #: 2

What's up this month:I know it's still December but my son turns 2 tomorrow!!! January he starts 3 days per week at a Montessori program! Looking forward to a new schedule for us but a little nervous about the transition.

For Fun: Any new year resolutions? I have a lot of projects I want to work on now that my son will be at school, but I need to be realistic since it's only 3 hours and only one day/week I won't be at work. So I guess just some home organization/decluttering. Otherwise, I got a Fitbit to try to encourage myself to increase my activity level, i would love to cook more, and I want to strengthen my back and shoulders!

@mrskansas: I think my husband has definitely tuned me out whenever I talk about ANYTHING related to TTC. Except you know....when I say "wanna BD?"

@bizwitch: I don't know if anyone else answered this for you already. Clomid makes ovulation "stronger" and more consistent in women who are already ovulating.

Clomid did not work for me but tamoxifen did (for LO#1)

Anyone else find it hard to be patient while TTC? Before we started trying, I wanted desperately for about a year to start TTC but we waited because we knew it would be the most practical thing to do. Now that we're trying, my impatience is worse. I know it hasn't been that long, and a lot of people try for years. Still I feel sad, impatient, worried that it will never happen, worried that it will only get harder if I do get a bfp and then there are losses. Then I feel dumb that I can't just be more patient and forget that we're TTC for awhile. Wondering if anyone has strategies for being patient/non-obsessed while TTC? How do you take the baby fever down a notch?

I'm so relieved to finally (I think) be in the TWW. Taking OPKs and having to worry about BD for two weeks was a bit much. Huge admiration for those who normally have irregular cycles...

@periwinklebee: I am dreadfully impatient in life in general but now TTC its even worse, waiting for CD3 to start monitoring and letrozole, waiting until CD10-12 for monitoring, waiting to Trigger, waiting to test. Waiting for the nurse to call with updates every time I go in for a test. Its driving me crazy. I cannot turn off the part of my brain that wants to get pregnant so badly and so I just have to wait and try and relax.

Having a hysteroscope and uterine biopsy tomorrow. I'm hoping this is the last round of testing and that I'll get a BFP in Janurary. I'm a little nervous bc the test is happening at 7am unlike my saline HSG which was in the afternoon and I could go home and relax and deal with the cramping.

@periwinklebee: I wholeheartedly know how you feel. I almost wish I never looked up any of this stuff when we decided to start trying. I feel like time has slowed down even more and my patience has worn so thin. I have an extremely irregular cycle (21 days, 35 days, currently 62 days) so this is driving me bonkers. I don't even know if I will have a two week wait!

@snarkybiochemist: It's good to know I'm not the only one. I'm sure it's (much) worse with treatment... I'm going to try to force myself to relax while it's just waiting to ovulate, waiting to test, so that if the RE recommends something similar for us, I don't lose my mind...

@madisonbee: Boo to the irregular cycles, that would drive me bonkers too. I hope ovulation, or better yet a BFP, arrive soon!

@periwinklebee: I am never good at patience but yes, ttc makes it almost unbearable! I feel like I was waiting forever for my husband to be ready and now I worry it's going to take forever to get a !!!

@madisonbee: me too! I am at work right now. I feel your pain, it makes it both harder and easier to spend time snuggling the babies at work when you want to have one. I work in a medical floor (like med surg but it's separated here)

@junebugsmama: happy birthday to your LO! are you all doing anything special to celebrate? and that's exciting about him starting the montessori program! i bet he will love it. we don't have anything like that in my area.

@snarkybiochemist: good luck tomorrow! i hope everything goes smoothly.

@periwinklebee: i'm generally pretty patient, but TTC definitely makes me crazy. maybe because it's the one thing that is completely out of our control on a certain level. i like planning. and ttc and babies just don't go according to plans!

@madisonbee: i think we are POAS around the same time. i'm totally symptom spotting already too.

    Ovulation Date: 1/7
    POAS Date: 1/17

What's up this month: I have an appointment with an obgyn Jan 5 to rule out any underlying factors that may be delaying our ability to conceive. DH will be getting a SA.
For Fun: Any new year resolutions? Try to eat healthier and lose all the weight I gained post wedding! Also want to try to be more present and be more proactive about going new places and trying new things in life. And lastly, get a BFP!

@madisonbee: I had a similar dreadful cycle 32 95 58 29 35. I'm working with an RE now since I wasn't always ovulating. If you are concerned and want to get on with it irregular cycles can be a reason to see a RE prior to the 1 year mark.

How is everyone doing today? I'm sick with a cold and thankfully have only 1.5 more days of work until a 4 day weekend so that's helping take my mind off the TWW.
It's bothering me that I don't know if I actually ovulated or not. My CM says I did but my OPKs were hit and miss. I'm going to continue to BD every day (hopefully - with a toddler it's hard!) just in case I haven't yet. I hate having no control over any of this TTC stuff!

@snarkybiochemist: good to know! My OB and PCP just keep telling me to be patient and wait for my cycles to normalize after being off BC. The only problem is they were never normal or regular even before going on it! So hopefully I get my answer in a couple weeks with a BFP!

  36. Mrs. Oreo

@mrskansas: Sorry you're not feeling well--that stinks! I had the day off yesterday and tried to keep myself busy, but it's hard when you're in the TWW. I'm glad I'm at work today so I can at least keep my mind off of it a little.

Keep on with the BD--fingers crossed for ya!

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@jhd: It is a very quiet day which is super nice, and I have no issues being in yoga pants (normally I am at least in jeans). I am happy with the good news.
@madisonbee: I didn't have normal cycles before BC either, I was on it for 10 years and I had 1 normal cycle coming off it then everything went crazy. I had suspected that I would have trouble b/c my GYN told me in high school when I went on the BC that I likely wasn't ovulating every cycle seeing as I could go up to 8-10 weeks between periods. If you are concerned and feeling dismissed advocate for yourself. Doctors may have knowledge and training but you know your own body, if you aren't ready for an RE, your OB/GYN should be able to order basic blood work and an ultrasound to start getting a picture about whats going on.

  38. Mrs. Oreo

    pear / 1677 posts

@snarkybiochemist: Your body sounds like mine! I was on BC for almost 10 years. Prior to that, I would only have periods 2-4 times a year. Just came off of it end of September 2016 and I was hopeful when I had a period on my 21 day and 35 day cycle. Now that I'm on CD62 and just ovulated last week (by chance!), this has definitely been the most frustrating last couple months. So I'm really curious to see if I get a BFP.

As for my doctors, my OB prescribed Provera last week. I had to wait two weeks to start taking it. That same day she prescribed it is when I went home and had a blazing positive OPK (after losing all hope!). Prior to prescribing that, she didn't think a blood test was needed or other testing.

If I don't get a BFP or AF in a few weeks, I'm gonna be more persistent about it rather than sit and wonder. Thanks for the push!

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@madisonbee: Glad I could help. It isn't normal to be so irregular, particularly if you were irregular before starting BC. I hope this month is your month and you don't need any testing or help, but its out there and isn't the worst thing in the world.

@mrskansas: Same here! Just have to finish out today at work and then work tomorrow and I've got four days off. We are going camping at a cabin for the weekend to celebrate the New Year. We go camping most years so it's nice to keep the tradition alive. I hope we have a little something extra to celebrate in 2017! I have never had luck with OPKs but my doc said it looks like I'm ovulating based on my charts. I have basically given up any charting or testing and we're just BDing as much as we can!

I took a test this morning and it was a BFN. Not really a surprise since I am only about 7-9 DPO (not sure exactly since I'm not charting or testing). Just want to know because I'll abstain from NYE champagne (ok, maybe one glass) if I'm pregnant. But maybe it will be a good thing to just get through the weekend and celebrate like normal. Champagne tipsy in a cabin with snow all around is a fun time indeed!
