@bhbee: Heck yes! The egg can live for 12-24 hours after ovulation.

@Coral: I know ... I want to be done being scheduled but gotta give it our best shot!

If I were in your position I'd probably make it to 10 days past my latest usual o date and then test. Or let's be real, 10 days after my earliest o date. but I think waiting for af would be awesome and lower stress!

Hi all, sorry I've been MIA. We leave tomorrow for a whole month and I am a mad woman. Not only packing but trying to get a ton of stuff done before we leave. On top of that is this IVF crap!

I'm officially in the...5 day wait? Had my transfer today and it was flawless. 5 day embryo was already hatching and it will hopefully implant in the next 24 hours or so
I'm literally an insane person though. It's been like 5 hours and I already want to POAS so badly. Like, I won't, of course. But I have the itch.

@lilyofthewest: How did it go today?

@HeartAbandoned: Got the aspiration/D&C done today and there appeared to pregnancy tissue. The gyn is convinced my April loss was incomplete; I think it is much more likely that it was a new, additional, abnormal pregnancy. My pregnancy sx had all went away, then I had fertile cervical mucus, and then my pregnancy sx came back about 2 weeks later. I didn't have beta f/u after the miscarriage, and neither debris nor a new pregnancy was seen on sono; no way to really know.

The important thing is that it probably is NOT ectopic. So long as path confirms pregnancy tissue by tomorrow afternoon and my next beta falls appropriately, I can skip the methotrexate.

@nanilani: to answer your earlier LH/OPK question! This is from Fertility Friend.

@bhbee: I would just go maximize chances! Technically when you get a positive OPK, you should BD three days in a row, according to Sperm Meets Egg Plan.

@lilyofthewest: I hope you can skip the methotrexate. I would push for categorizing this as a second abnormal for RE purposes. Thinking of you

  11. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6086 posts

@Mrs.Panda: I so wish we were getting tonight in! Second month in a row I got opk+ while he was on a work trip! I guess we'll get o-4, o-3, o and o+1 so could be worse.

  12. lilyofthewest

    pear / 1697 posts

@Mrs.Panda: My midwives (who would refer me if I need an RE) seem willing to recognize that it was likely a second abnormal, so, it doesn't matter much that the OB who treated me today isn't convinced.

Unfortunately, it isn't that surprising either. I'm 35, my partner's 42, and at least when we were TTC LO, he had terrible morphology (<2%). At least I'm getting pregnant quickly this time? 3 cycles, 2 pregnancies. I got pregnant with LO on my 8th TTC cycle.

  13. Coral

    clementine / 874 posts

@bhbee: Lots of women have gotten pregnant on much "worse" timing!
@SweetiePie: Hoping this trip is a perfect distraction and that you get a BFP as a souvenir!
@lilyofthewest: I'm sorry. I hope that your body is ready to move forward soon.

  14. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@lilyofthewest: Sorry you've had so much poking and prodding lately. It truly sucks. I also would be surprised if you had leftover tissue from an April miscarriage. Sorry I'm new to this thread so I have questions you've prob already answered - did you have an RE with your first? Only ask since you knew about the morphology and everything.
If it is found to be pregnancy tissue, can they do chromosomal testing?
I had repeat losses and they were able to test the tissue and it's how we found my balanced translocation. Which is how we ended up needing ivf with PGD.

@lilyofthewest: I'm so sorry to hear about your loss

@Mrs.Panda: Oof, I can't believe I didn't think to check FF! I either read that once upon a time and forgot the OPK info (since I wasn't using them at the time) or maybe skipped over it for the same reasons. Either way, thanks!

  18. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

@nanilani: no problem! It just happened to pop up on my FF due to my positive OPK.

  19. lilyofthewest

    pear / 1697 posts

@SweetiePie: No RE with LO. Sweetie got the results from the semen analysis (ordered by PCP) less than 2 weeks before my . I am VERY confident that I wasn't having losses when we were TTC then because I am a POAS addict a never waited until later than 8 DPO to start testing.

If we have a 3rd loss or any signficant delay in attaining a new pregnancy we'll look into testing and interventions pretty promptly since we're not getting any younger! While they *could* do chromosomal testing on this tissue (fx path confirms sac/villi), it doesn't feel important enough to argue with a provider who is sure it is retained tissue from April.

I manage to forget what CD I'm on until it gets to the end and then I can't stop thinking about it! From past cycles, I'm due to start spotting tomorrow or Saturday (because that always happens pre-AF). I'm CD9 now. Obviously, would love a good outcome instead of AF on vacation (again) but we'll see!

I was really excited to have af after the loss in May. A week of EOD BD is right around the corner. But then today a good friend posted her pregnancy news, yesterday I sat beside a cute pregnant gal at a meeting and someone at work told me his new wife is expecting. It was a lot to cope with. I really hope we have good luck this time around again and I get a little Bean who sticks with me.

@LindsayInNY: Good luck! Hoping you'll have good news to celebrate on your vacation! Will you test before you leave?

@MrsJBeeG: That sort of thing always seems to pile up at once, right? I'm sorry you've had a tough few days. Hoping for better news for you and sticky baby dust!

Can someone remind me when FF will add crosshairs to a chart? It's been so long since I've charted (I didn't care at all about cycles while I was on BC post-DS, and I was on continuous BC anyway...), so I can't remember. I'm using all the apps we've talked about on this thread because I'm a crazy person, and so far only 1 out of the 4 is giving me an O date (Glow is the app). According to it, I'm 2DPO.

  26. nanilani

    apricot / 374 posts

@HeartAbandoned: I believe FF looks for three days of sustained temp rise above your previous numbers in order to confirm O. Has your chart continued to climb?

I use FF, Glow, and Ovia, and while Glow is probably my favorite overall, I don't trust its predictions at this time. According to it I'm currently 9DPO despite not having a temp shift or positive OPK. I'm waiting to see if it'll adjust when I enter that sort of data. Ovia on the other hand is adjusting my FW frequently. But your chart data looked like a pretty clear O so maybe Glow is right on the money for you

  27. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@HeartAbandoned: Probably not. I hate testing. BUT my in-laws will be with us all week so I don't know... I honestly don't know what I'm going to do! We leave Saturday morning.

  28. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@nanilani: What do you like or not like about any of those apps?

  29. nanilani

    apricot / 374 posts

@LindsayInNY: It's mostly just personal preference and differences between the three are minor so YMMV, but here's my take:

FF: barebones UI, but seems to offer very detailed options for data entry (e.g. different types of fertilization besides just having sex). I like that it'll scale my chart so I can see my entire long cycle without scrolling. No fertility prediction that I've seen, just confirmation of O with sufficient data.

Ovia: Nicer to look at. Some of the data entry options seem over simplified (e.g. not differentiating between creamy and sticky CM, but I do like that some categories offer a "not sure" option. It's been updating my prediction regularly based on entered data and offers a good comparative summary under Cycle Insights. Lots of ads embedded in the home screen. It used to sync vitals with my fitbit, but that function no longer works.

Glow: Also nice to look at. I like their home screen best, like how it tells me how much my BBT has changed since yesterday. Chart includes more info than Ovia, but maybe a little less than FF. For my needs this is fine. It also has more detailed data entry options than Ovia. So far it only predicts my fertile period based on my previous cycle lengths and doesn't seem to take other entered data into account. Maybe that will change if I get a + OPK? I don't feel bombarded by ads other than the occasional prompt to upgrade to use an advanced feature. I rarely click over into the groups, but when I do I often find the posts annoying. Syncs with Apple Health Kit.

Hope that helps! I use the free version of all three apps.

  30. HeartAbandoned

    clementine / 933 posts

@nanilani: I use all three and I found your summary very helpful! (and I agree on the Glow groups - they are annoying to me, probably because I've been spoiled by the HB community!)

I have had 2 days of sustained temp rise, so hopefully tomorrow FF will give me crosshairs. Since I don't have any historical data in any of the apps, it's just OPK and 2 days of temp rise to go on. I'll keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow! Thanks for the info!

@LindsayInNY: Will you want to tell your in-laws while you're with them if you are pregnant? How are you feeling about your chances this cycle? Hoping for good news, no matter when/if you decide to test!

  31. nanilani

    apricot / 374 posts

@HeartAbandoned: In my experience FF doesn't make any predictions based on historical data anyway. I hope you get your crosshairs tomorrow. The chart you posted a day or two ago looked like a pretty obvious O to me!

Tested today at 10dpo and there is a barely noticeable line. my husband can see it so I know I'm not imagining things but I doubt there will be a good outcome.
We are on vacation for a few more days and I'll test again when I get home if my period doesn't start

@HeartAbandoned: Oh god no, lol. My SIL will also be with and she's due with #2 in October (our 1s are a week apart in age). I had IF with my first and didn't tell family until 14 weeks. It'll probably be close to the same next time around too. TBH, I feel nothing. I didn't first time with IUI. The nurse had to tell me I was pregnant. I'm a terrible TTCer, LOL!

@knittylady: I don't have any tests and we are still on vacation so I can't get one.

Even if it is a chemical I'd rather not know
