@bhbee: thanks! I'm so excited! I have a septate uterus and when we originally found it my doctor was talking about surgery to remove the septum before doing an IUI but after a saline us to see how big of a septum I have we have decided to forgo surgery (for now) and see what happens! So glad not to have to wait!

Alright, so I know I already know the answer to this but if I tend to get a positive OPK ranging from cd 13-cd 16 and our plan is to BE EOD from cd10-20, is there really any reason to use OPKS?
nectarine / 2358 posts
I will likely be rolling over to this month since I think I'll O late this month. See you soon!
apricot / 360 posts
@Coral: I don't think you really need to use OPKs if you are planning to cover CD 10-20. These past few months I've gotten a positive OPK anywhere from CD 15-18, so ideally I'd like to skip using them, but my husband wants me to keep using them just in case I have an off month. It's the only thing I do to track my cycle - I don't temp, check cm, etc.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Coral: my question would be how likely are you to get the eod done? If you're super committed I'd skip opks. But if you might be tempted to skip if you or dh are not into it, then I'd do them to not miss an important day.
clementine / 874 posts
@bhbee: Super committed. The opks don't really stress me out so much (especially since I use the digital) but I was so stressed out about which day I ovulated and which dpo I was that I kind of just want to cast a wide net and dig my head in the sand a bit. Does that make any sense? I put all my opks and hpts in a bag, gave them to DH, and saved one hpt to test July 5th. I'm not sure if this will be any better but I need to take a more chill, simple approach. I'll revisit opks if this month doesn't work.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Coral: if I had the commitment to bd that much I would totally do that plan I hope it makes for a relaxed month!
clementine / 874 posts
@bhbee: It ends up *only* being 5 times. Last time, we BD for 4 or 5 days in a row. I would much rather do EOD. I was kind of sick of it at the end.

OPK users... what do your tests look like with FMU? Does it get darker in the morning prior to your surge in the afternoon (if you usually get your first positive later in the day)?
pomegranate / 3212 posts
@mrskansas: I feel like my darkest are in the afternoon or SMU? But can't remember for some reason - I've certainly had enough experience- ugh.
Wanna share a pic?
pomegranate / 3212 posts
@Coral: God bless you. Last month I got a blaringly positive OPK and that night I was so sleepy and thought - would I rather have an infant, or sleep right now... I can tell you how that cycle ended....

this was FMU. It is the darkest one I've gotten so far so I'm wondering if I'm starting to surge. I always get my first positive in the afternoon.
nectarine / 2813 posts
@knittylady: I definitely will. The only reason I'm even using OPKs is because I want to see a positive not caused by the trigger shot, lol.
clementine / 874 posts
@knittylady: Haha! Last month was our perfect due date month, so we gave it all we had. This month is less ideal, so I feel like the pressure is off a bit more.
Eta: whoops! I meant to put my POAS date as July 5th!

@Mrs. Oreo: about the same. But I'm just starting to get ewcm so it'll probably be tomorrow or Sunday.

Got a positive OPK this afternoon. We weren't trying this month but I wasn't expecting to ovulate anytime soon so we haven't been very good with preventing.
Guess I'll see what happens!
