Just for fun. A sandwich poll!

I would say I really like sandwiches… maybe even love sandwiches. I feel like they are close to being a perfect type of food. Something between bread that you can hold and carry with you if you want, usually.

I really like BLTs, I keep all the ingredient on hand at home just in case I hanker for one. But really I like all sandwiches!

Anyways I listed a bunch of sandwiches. I thought it would be fun to see which one people in general like the best.

Sorry no order… just what came to mind. You can vote for more than one! There are a lot of sandwiches people and limited voting options, so I had to combine types of sandwiches… sorry if you feel like an egg salad is completely different than a tuna salad!

Argh I just remembered. Tea Sandwiches... the sandwiches you get when you go to afternoon tea.. They are soo good... sadly no room in the poll. Oh well! Haha.

@Mamaof2: Have you tried the monte cristo at Disneyland? When I went to Disneyland everyone and their mother made it a point to tell me to have that one day. It was pretty good... but I'm not a fan of monte cristo. DH said it was very good for a monte cristo.

Hamburgers are always a favorite of mine! I'm kind of picky about other sandwiches and I prefer either a tuna salad sandwich or mostly meat sandwiches (like French Dip). I don't like veggies on my sandwich, and I don't like tomatoes, so that rules a lot out.

Pepperoni Dagwood from Penn Station. It's pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, and tomato. Yes, I realize that it's a heart attack on a bun, but I love it SO MUCH.

Well, bacon cheeseburgers are my weakness, but I don't put them in the sandwich category.
Turkey Reubans are my most favorite sandwich!

@Mamaof2: I love sandwiches and that's the only completely fried sandwich that I know of (*ponders*), and it is too rich for me! Disneyland makes them big so you should share, just a tip. Hehe.

@aprild: Do you not like the texture of veggies? Just curious.

@avivoca: But there was lettuce and tomatoes! See somewhat healthy. Hehe.

@NavyRN2012: Why isn't hamburger in the sandwich category to you?

I feel like hamburgers are too cool to be consider sandwiches. Haha. I don't know though I still count them as sandwiches... meat and veggies between a bun... right?

I LOVE sandwiches...I'll almost always get a ruben if it's on the menu.

Sadly my DH doesn't believe that sandwiches (or burgers) are real food and would rather starve to death than eat one which means we rarely, if ever, go out for pub-type food (which I love). Boo on him, lol.

@NavyRN2012: Fair enough. They do seem like their own thing. That's why I wrote "I count them as sandwiches!". Haha. They are like sandwiches cooler older brother or something.

@Raindrop: Ugh, figuring out where to eat is our #1 marriage struggle, lol. He's pickier than a toddler when it comes to eating!! To him a meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) should start with a hearty bowl of soup (winter or summer) followed by a a giant plate of rice with some sort of meat dish and salad--it's what he grew up eating and he is not open to trying new things, period. *sigh*

My first meal after birthing my son was an Italian Combo.... Lots of Italian deli meat, cheese, oil and vinegar, lettuce, and tomato. Yuuum.

@MediaNaranja: Your husband sounds like my FIL. He refuses to eat places other than Wendy's, McD's, KFC, and the Dairy Bar. Sometimes you can get him to eat at Dairy Queen. He came to visit us after H was born and of all the wonderful burger restaurants there are in this town (I live in the largest town in KY), he wanted McD's but settled on KFC.

@josina: I have never tried a BLT with fried green tomatoes! Dare I say fried green tomatoes aren't a thing where I'm from. I don't even think I have ever had a fried green tomato!! I will seek it out now though!

@Raindrop: I don't think they're really a thing here either, as in I'm not sure I could get them at a restaurant, but I make them at home when we have green tomatoes in the garden. Sooo good.

@avivoca: Oh! So it's not that popular in Kentucky?

I did look up top sandwiches before making this thread and I saw Kentucky hot brown (it was near the top of a lot of lists) and I remembered food network talking about it once and I kind of want to try it if I'm ever in Kentucky. Haha.

Hamburgers hands down!! That has got to be my all time favourite food.

I do enjoy BLT's too. But not as much as a hamburger!

Yummmm, just give me all the sandwiches. Picking a favorite is like choosing between my kiddos

I guess since you brought it up, Lobstah Roll. Drool! We don't get good ones here in AZ. Last summer we did a New England trip and I met up with a lovely bee at The Clam Shack, I was afraid I was going to scare her off with the noises I was emitting while eating it Good thing she and I are long lost sisters!

Another favorite is the grinder, super thinly sliced, I still have dreams about the one I had in Columbus once. And Wendy's Garden Veggie Pita from years ago. Wish they would bring that one back, I just can't recreate it.
