We actually had a small budget wedding with the mindset that we wanted to have money for a house and babies in the future.

We spent less than $5,000 on our wedding, so I don't really regret that. I, perhaps, wish we'd saved of the money received as gifts though. It wasn't a lot, but it would be nice to have more of a cushion now.

I don't know our final tally (my parents paid for the wedding) but I know that we stayed on budget when I had a say in things. I have no way of telling how far over-budget my Mom went. I would not change what our wedding budget was, though. Yes, having an extra $10k in the bank would be nice but then we couldn't have had such a wonderful day. A year later - I am glad we did not spend money on a videographer.

I wish I had gone with my gut and not invited the two couples I really didn't feel like we would be friends with much longer. It would have been nice to save that $110/head on those four people....

As for our honeymoon - we paid for that and it was the most expensive trip we have ever taken. It was a cruise through the caribbean in a balcony room and ended up costing around $4000. I would go on that vacation over and over again and not change a thing.

I loved our wedding so much and really enjoyed the entire planning process. It would be nice to have more money in the bank now but I really don't think I'd change a thing.

I actually regret not spending just a little more money. I was very budget conscious during the process and with that came a lot of sacrifices. Now looking back at photos, I wish I would've splurged just a litte. It really is only one day and you don't get to re-do it... well unless you have a vow renewal

We spent a lot of money on our wedding. And while there are little things ABOUT the wedding I regret (like not having gotten a photobooth), I don't regret having had spent that amount of money. More than 3 years later, people are still talking about what a great time they had at our wedding, and how fantastic the food was. And going by the personalities of our younger siblings and cousins, as well as the downturn economy which doesn't seem to be on the way up anytime soon, it looks like our wedding may be the last large wedding in both our families (we had ~250 guests), and we are grateful that everyone was able to gather and have such a great time.

Nope. We looked ahead and knew what was important to us--home, family, and future--so we spent very sparingly on our wedding ($1300) as a result, focusing on savings and such instead. I always wonder how other people--who spent 10s of thousands--feel after the fact--this is a great thread!

We had a medium sized wedding (90 people) and paid for the entire wedding ourselves. I would not change a thing, well maybe one: wished we hired a videographer. Besides that I LOVED every aspect of my wedding, and a year later friends still bring up our wedding

I do cherish our wedding day, but looking back I wish I would have spent less. I would love to have just taken the money our parents gave us and put it towards a house instead of a more expenisve wedding. Hindsight is always 20/20!

No regrets! We had an average wedding, and have been able to save for a house and have a little saved for baby-to-be. I loved our wedding and wouldn't have changed anything.

We had 130 people in the suburbs of NYC. To keep costs down, we did a Sunday 3pm ceremony with dinner and dancing until about 10. I didn't go nuts with anything, but if I could do it all over again, I didn't need to spend $4000 on my dress. I could have found something just as lovely for $1500.

Our wedding was big-ish (170 guests) and my parents ended up spending approx. $35k on the whole shebang. My Mom's original budget was $22k, so we clearly blew the budget, which I regret. I know that our wedding was a real financial strain for my family so I do wish I'd been less self-centered and stayed within the budget. It just doesn't matter that much when it's all over.
