Our "fights" are so prolonged now b/c of the baby! We had a small tiff when I came home in the yesterday evening, but never got resolved since we had people over, and I was upstairs the whole night w/ DD, and then I fell asleep before he came up. And then morning we always rush around getting ready/out the door.

They are definitely longer post-bab(ies), but we usually get them resolved before bed.

@BabyBoecksMom: It's tough now too since we co-sleep so we don't talk while in bed lol! I think to keep our marriage healthy I really need to move her back to her room!

We co-sleep too but DH and I spend 15-20 min talking in the living room after LO is in bed and before I go in. I used to love talking in bed too! Fortunately, we aren't prone to staying angry with one another.

@miramira: I am so bad with that still! While DD is in bed, with that 1-2 hr window I just run around doing chores! Neither of us really stay mad either but it's just weird that nowadays we don't really talk through it... Since most fights are not a big deal we just kinda let it go and move on...

It's so hard when most of your energy goes towards meeting the baby's needs! Occasionally we have a good talk over dinner but more often than not, we're focusing on feeding LO. I figure it'll all balance out eventually... I hope

Not long, but we are both very sensitive and neither grudge holders so we always talk it out pretty much right away.

Sometime a day or more, which is really unusual for us. But this whole surprise pregnancy thing has been hard for me in a lot of ways.

A few hours at most. LO actually usually brings us back together!

About a day. In fact, we got into an argument last night and it's still not resolved. We have people coming over tonight so not sure when we can talk about it either. Before baby I didn't like to go to bed angry but with the baby we rarely resolve it before the next day.

Our spats are usually over pretty quickly...even if we don't "resolve" them really, we just get over it. But that's because the majority of our stuff is just sleep-deprived grumpiness.

Not long? I don't think any argument we've had has lasted longer than a few hours. One of us (usually me) realizes we were being irrational and says so. If that doesn't happen we talk about it again to try to figure out a compromise.

Not long at all, but I give all credit to my DH. He cools off extremely fast and is also very quick to apologize. It's actually made me better at apologizing to him when I'm wrong, too. I used to be much more stubborn

Pretty quickly. It got prolonged this last time because of common issues (people in town over the weekend and then the hustle and bustle week started). So, something that started on Thursday wasn't resolved until Tuesday. But that's really unusual.

Going on 7 months, but it's not affecting our ability to manage the house or have fun together. It's a big difference of opinion that hasn't been resolved.

Hmmm, I don't think we've ever been madder than a day. I know there's times we go to bed mad (for us this works, we both have tempers and we need to sleep it off a little otherwise we just go round and round.) Usually in the morning after a fight, we can talk things through calmly and sort it out pretty quickly.

Like maybe five minutes, if that. We sometimes snap at each other but we always resolve it almost immediately. Our relationship just isn't about conflict. We default to a state of peace.

I like to just get it all out and move on, I am also willing to admit when I am wrong, so I don't usually stay mad for very long. DH is definitely a grudge holder and has a really hard time acknowledging when he is at fault. He is often mad longer. Which sometimes makes me mad again. Fortunately we don't fight too often.

My husband only really gets mad when I get angry first. And I'm quick to calm down. But it does annoy me that even when I have legitimate reasons to be angry he won't admit it and I just eventually let it go and then we're fine. I don't think he's ever said sorry.
