Someone is wanting to gift my girls and their cousins magazines or a book type subscription. I was looking up a few options but I'm not sure if some are even worth the cost. Does anyone subscribe their kids to any type of kids magazine? If so, which one and do you think it's worth it? Also the kids ages range from infant to ten years old, so I'm open to hearing about any good ones for any of those ages.

I have given Highlights and National Geographic Kids both for gifts. They were hits!

@lawbee11: I did browse those a bit! I just wasn't sure it was worth the $35? I *think* I used to have them as a kid but I don't remember much of what was included. I wish they offered trials!

We have done HighFive by Highlights for my DD, and we cancelled that recently in favor of Ladybug magazine. HighFivejust had too many puzzles for our taste and we wanted more reading material. I've also considered the National Geographic magazines, they look great.

@Bao: I haven't looked at them in forever, but I remember loving them as a kid! They've probably changed a lot since then, though.

We recently got a subscription to Zoobies, same folks who make Zoobooks, but it was for 0-3 year olds.

@Bao: It's a magazine.. the brand makes a bunch of different magazine geared toward interest areas and age groups. They have a science magazine as well. Ladybug is for ages 3-6 and is stories and poetry, and we like it a lot. http://www.cricketmag.com/LYB-LADYBUG-Magazine-for-Kids-ages-3-6

We get both Babybug and highlights hello for my almost two year old since last Christmas and he loves both of them

On that note, this program sends a book a month to kids for free, but it isn't available everywhere (not where I live, booo)

We get the baby highlights magazine (highlights hello) and DD loves getting the mail and reading the stories. Not sure how much it is though because it was a gift

I think there's one called chop chop, it's a kids cooking magazine.
