DD is 3 years 9 months and loves princesses. I was thinking of getting her a set but I find them on the pricey side in Canada.
Do your LOs like magiclips? Would you recommend it as a gift?

@Freckles: my LO just turned four and I got her the Anna and Elsa magiclip dolls for her birthday. She looooves them! So much that I am tempted to get her more for Christmas even though I am trying to prevent the onslaught of princesses!
I like that she can manipulate the dresses on her own and she really uses them for independent imaginative play. So I am a convert. How much are they where you are?

@MamaCate: can the dresses be interchanged between the two dolls? On amazon it is $66 for a set that includes all the princesses including Anna and Elsa. I am mad at myself for not buying the last set that has 4 princesses and 2 extra dresses per princess!

My LO *loves* magic clips. The good thing about them is that all the dolls are the same body, so all the outfits and accessories are interchangeable. They also fit well into sets designed for other small dolls - i.e., they "play" nicely in a dollhouse, etc.

@Freckles: woah that's really expensive. I think I bought htat same set for $20 or $30 at Costco a few months ago (in US). The dresses can be interchanged between the dolls, that's the best part!

@Freckles: Look around at other shops in Canada – here in the US, these dolls are everywhere. I’ve found them at toy stores, but also random stores that get in whatever (not exactly “surplus and salvage type places, but shops that sell discount goods). Even some Rite-Aid/CVS have them.

I hope so, we got her a set for Christmas. Can you do Groupon in Canada? They have a set for $39!

@Freckles: We got them at Costco for $25. Eight princesses and dresses. It was a few months ago though.

@Freckles: My DD (3) loves them too! I'd definitely suggest getting the big set instead of buying them one at a time, we bought the set and then just give her one or two randomly for special occasions.

@oliviaoblivia: ooh I will have to check it out- thanks!
@LuLu Mom: aww thanks for the link but they don't ship to Canada.

Yes!! OMG she has an entire army of Magiclips - she's been collecting them for over a year now and at last count had around 85. They're pretty cheap in the States now - you can get a single doll with a dress for $5 at Target. @Freckles: I know shipping to Canada can get pricey, but I'm happy to purchase them and mail them to you if it'll save some $$
ETA: it's cool because you can also make them Play Doh "dresses." She still spends at least an hour a day playing with them, and doesn't get tired of them.

They were impossible to find in Canada but my DD is obsessed with her cousin's so I needed to find some. !!! I'm kicking myself for not getting them at Costco a few months ago (they were there but I had no idea what they were.)
I ended up buying the "glitter glider" Magic clip princesses on Amazon (11.00$ each) and then I got her the glitter glider castle to go with it so that's her "big" gift this Christmas. I got the castle shipped to my aunt in the states because it was so much cheaper than here. But the dolls after figuring for exchange rate, tax and duty didn't really make them that much of a savings. .
If you just want the regular magic clips the $66 for 8 princesses is the best deal I've found in Canada.

@mediagirl: haha yes. M calls her the "sea witch" though.
