A friend of mine had a baby a couple of months ago and I'm thinking of gifting her one of these for Christmas. They weren't around when I was nursing (or I didn't know about them). If you have one would you recommend it? Thanks!

I just use scarves. I got a huge Infiniti scarf from h&m last week that is great for nursing with and also wrapping the baby in when it's cold!

Might just be me but I didn't like it. I liked the traditional nursing cover where there's that little wire thing on top to keep it open better. I felt like with the scarf I had to use the other hand to hold the fabric away from DD. That was just me tho!

My daughter hated the traditional cover, so i quickly gave up my modesty. I'll be trying the scarf or something similar when we have another.

I follow her on IG where she posts about sales (I think she's in her last days of 20% off) and she also posts about new fabrics. She had a polka dot chambray I seriously considered, but stopped myself because I don't need three, just wanted it lol.

I had no luck with nursing covers of any kind. I think a lot depends on the baby! Would make a nice gift, though.

@lawbee11: love the scarf. i sometimes just threw it over as if it was a blanket whe i got comfortable with it. the more common cover with the strap over the neck just looked awkward and baglike to me.
check out itzy ritzy on Amazon!

I used a cover for my first and a scarf for my second. I love the scarf so much better! I used a vasanya scarf from lulu which was perfect. I also had a nursing scarf, but it was kinda crappy material. I actually just sewed a few of my own scarfs and sold them locally as a maternity scarf. Any infinity scarf works well.
