Can anyone recommend a sports bra that works well for a small band and large cup size? It would be fantastic if it were compatible with nursing also, but I'm so frustrated finding one that fits that I'm about to give up on finding that. I've been using a Moving Comfort Juno in a 36DD (their largest size), to accommodate my cup size, but the band has gotten way too big. My best fitting bra right now is a Freya size 30G (US size 30I).

Have you tried a different style of Moving comfort? I think the Juno is recommended because it seems to run large. But maybe another style would be tighter.

Have you tried Cake bras? I had a nursing sports bra from that brand - I was a 32dd(d) while nursing and it worked pretty well for me. I got it from Nordstrom online. They're pretty expensive but really nice bras.

I have a few different styles - they all fit slightly differently (and none of them are good for nursing), but I wear the same size as you and love kickboxing, so they'll definitely hold you in place:

I have two main nursing bras I have worn every day for a year now, and one of them is a cake sports bra. I am a 34J nursing. Worth the cost, for sure.

@jape14: @MrsBucky: I've tried Cake's t-shirt bra and I couldn't find a size in which the underwire lay flat. They don't go down to a 30 band, but I could make a 32 work if the underwires fit. I haven't tried their sports bra yet -- I'm afraid that the underwire would be the same fit as the t-shirt bra.

@raspberries: I bit the bullet and ordered a similar Panache bra off Amazon this morning. I'm happy to hear another endorsement of it! The reviews were great, so here's hoping it works out. I'm so tired of constantly returning bras purchased online since I can't find my size in stores. I wish there were nursing options in our size though -- I don't understand why not a single one exists!!

@nanilani: I feel ya - I think there probably IS a nursing sports bra that exists in our size, but it probably costs $300, has to be imported, and is sold out in our size for the next 6 months.

No suggestions just solidarity. Bras are like the bane of my existence. For my budget I've pretty much just reconciled with having ill-fitting bras because I can't afford the time or money it takes to actually search out and find good bras. Good luck!
ETA: have you ever thought about or done custom made bras? One of my friends did this as a 30th birthday present for herself but the shop she used has since closed.
ETA2: my dream is to open a clothing store called Short and Busty!

I'm a 32G and got the panache sports bra (without underwire).
It is PERFECT.
ETA: Oh. It's not nursing. Just a regular sports bra.

Have you considered having non-nursing sports bras in your size converted? I haven't done it, but I know others who have. There are kits that you can buy, and I'm sure any decent seamstress could handle it if you aren't handy with a needle. I am still nursing 4-5x a day at 11 mo, and was just refitted: 32DD(D). In my earlier nursing days I wore 34D, before my rib cage shrank back down, and I still wear them now on the lowest setting, but they aren't ideal. I got a couple of Victoria Secret sports bras in my size for when I go to the gym, but they're no good for nursing. I just change when I come home and shower.

I did not nurse in my sports bra, but I had similar measurements (32G) and I wore the natori yogi from Nordstroms. It was plenty supportive for my long distance runs, yoga, etc.
ETA: I was a 30G in non-sports bras and the band was not too big in a 32 for this brand.

@tofuwad: Need a business partner??? I've been rather surprised and disappointed that it's so difficult to find the small band/large cup combo. Isn't it pretty well known that bf boobs are huge? Why are the big cups only available for plus size gals? (To be clear, I'm not body shaming anyone! Everyone deserves bras that fit and makes them feel good!)

@Astro Bee: I hadn't considered altering one. I'd have to look for another tailor if I go this route b/c I'm pretty positive mine doesn't work in undergarments. I'd be too nervous to try it myself. Bras in my size are pretty expensive ($70+) and I'd hate to ruin one! Maybe I could experiment with an old one that I'm never going to wear again first . . .

It was convenient to nurse in my Moving Comfort bra (that no longer fits) b/c it's not uncommon that LO is hungry when I get home from working out. That is clearly not in the cards for me anymore now that my rib cage shrunk back down. Oh well.

@nanilani: you're welcome! I totally feel your pain on this topic... I was beyond frustrated bra and sports bra shopping. The only options for small bands are always the $$$ ones too!
